Great trip with Capt. Mike who know is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local waters in OBX. He came prepared with live bait and put us on fish within 30 minutes. He was a patient casting coach with my family and made our trip both educational and relaxing. I would highly recommend Old School Charters on The Touch of Grey.

We didnโt catch many fish, but it was an excellent trip. He moved to several spots and the fish just werenโt cooperating.ย Mike was very personable and informative. We had young, old, and some inexperienced anglers in our family group and everyone had a great time. His boat even had a small step, which was beyond helpful when bringing our handicapped, elderly father. Some captains are arrogant or impatient with novice anglers, but Mike was patient and down to earth and made certain everyone was included and having a great time. We take a charter every year and always choose a different captain so we have a different experience each time, however I will definitely rebook with Mike.

What a beautiful evening! I am so happy we not only had a beautiful sunset but caught some fish too! While on vacation in Outer Banks, we decided we wanted to do a fishing trip. Captain Mike answered me promptly about the fishing for the week and we were able to book a trip for Thursday. He sent all the information we needed before hand and was ready for our trip at 7am. The weather called for wind, but it was still manageable and Captain Mike was very considerate to not get us soaking wet. Our trip started slow but he made sure to get us on some fish! We were able to catch some gorgeous Sea Trout and a Weakfish. Mike is super knowledgeable about the area and truly cares about the fisheries in OBX. As someone who works in fisheries and with charters before, I would absolutely recommend Old School Fishing Charters for a fantastic charter fishing experience. Amber I really enjoyed fishing and talking with you, Cody, Josh and Mike! I am really glad with changed things up after the slow start. All of you did tremendously in those windy and difficult conditions. Yโall are some good crew and I canโt wait to fish with you again!
This was a nice fishing trip for my son and I. Capt Mike was very engaged and helpful with some extra tips. Easy to find and the weather wasnโt bad. Would have liked more fish but we had to save some for next time. ๐ Recommend Capt Mike for an easy and relaxing day.

We of course chose the deathly of hot days to go which did impact our catches, but Mike kept us moving around and trying different techniques. Took us all the way down to the last hour of our last day, but my son finally pulled in a 27โ drum! We caught some bass and Mike caught a blue fish otherwise. He was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Being a retired teacher, definitely good with kids.
