At first the weather was calm and Captain Mike took us to a nice sheepshead spot and taught us the nuances of catching sheepshead. We caught a few when none of the other boats around us were. After a little bit the wind picked up and we went to another spot to try for some speckled trout which he gave us pointers on as well. Landed a few and missed a few despite the wind, but he knew where they were!

Mike the captain was extremely knowledgeable, very patient and a great teacher . Learned a great deal and caught several speckled trout. Came home with 4 16-18” trout on a windy day in the bay.

The wind was pretty strong when we went out but Captain Mike knew how to find us some calm spots to fish. Had a great time and caught some great fish so I’d say it was a successful trip! Thanks Captain Mike!

One of the best fishing trips I have been on, and I didn’t even catch a fish! The Captain of this little boat Taught us a different fishing cast than we were used to. He gave us a wealth of information about the Outer Banks, History, and some folklore, and he was just a great person to spend your day with and enjoy great conversation and fish.

We had a great day in spite of the steady and occasionally strong NE winds. We caught a big drum and a couple of decent trout. Lost a few because we are not used to this kind of fishing but Captain Michael was a professional, kind and very knowledgeable, teaching us how to best cast and reel in the fish. We will be back and we highly recommend him!
