Fantastic 5-hr trip with Capt Rodney - Southern Summers Charters. Within the first 2 hours I had 2 slots (keepers) and had released several keepers and over-limit reds. Capt Rodney also took me out to try for bulls. It was a tad late in the season, but we hooked one up before he managed to get off. Still caught a few sea bass. To finish the day, we went to an area for speckled sea trout catching several shorts and having a great time. Having Capt Rodney to myself was a treat and I was able to learn a great deal about fishing this area from him. He is highly professional, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. For someone that has never saltwater fished before we were not disappointed. the captain was a really good guy to go with. He was very friendly, very knowledgeable and very helpful. We had a blast. We didnโt catch as many fish as we wanted, but thatโs how fishing goes sometimes even though the catch was low, we still had fun would recommend it to anybody.

Captain Rodney was a great fishing guide. If you are searching for a fishing trip while you are in Hilton Head just stop looking and book a trip with Captain Rodney. He knows where the fish are and will take you there quickly. He has a really nice, clean boat and also provides a cooler with drinks. Within minutes we were catching fish. I took my dad out to fish with Captain Rodney and we had a great time.ย The boat was clean, new and comfortable.ย Captain was able to put us on fish right away.ย We had requested to try to go after some reds and we had some on the line within the first hour on the boat.ย Overall it was a great fishing experience, will book again.

The first fish on was a five and a half foot lemon shark! We ended up hooking into another one before we left that spot. Our next spot had us pulling in red drums and spotted trout early and often. Fortunately we caught enough slot redfish to bring home and cook up for dinner.
Captain Rodney was extremely personable and knowledgeable. He knew right where to take us to give us an unforgettable day on the water. I would highly recommend a trip with Southern Summers Charter!
