I debated on leaving a review since I don’t want to hurt anyone’s business, but since I always read the reviews to select a business, I decided it was only fair. I think this fishing trip would have been fine to a young outdoorsy group of men, but the Capt. definitely did not consider his customers. 1- I emailed the Captain. Prior to booking and asked if he would wear a mask and he assured me he would when close - he wore it under his nose, 2. There is no toilet (or none seen as advertised), 3. We were not shown where life jackets are kept, 4. This trip was for two older people and our 11 year old grandchild. There were no handholds and the Ride was so roughy both my husband and I thought our grandchild was going to be thrown into the water. I understand you want to get on the fish quickly, but consider your audience. We are more concerned about safety. We ended up jig fishing when we couldn’t catch anything which is not the type of fishing we wanted. We ended up catching two flounder total. What I had hoped would be a special outing for my husband turned into a painful expensive mistake. I still tipped the Capt., but I would have considered it nice if he would have offered us a discount on a future trip since we didn’t really catch anything, even though we would not have used it. We later went night fishing off one of the piers and had a wonderful time and caught more — pole rental was $10. Lol.

Sandra. I am sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your charter. I would like to say that I did wear my mask until the fact that you guys where not wearing one at all. As far as a toilet goes; we absolutely have one in the center console as advertised. Also your request was specifically to catch flounder(jig fishing). The water was a bit rough which is why we came back and fished in the harbor. I tailored the trip to your request. Once again I am sorry that you did not enjoy your experience.
We had 6 people fishing a 6 hr trip. 5 of which never fished offshore before (ages ranging from 15- 68). I told Capt Brad this the day before. When we arrived Capt Brad “steered us” suggested that the best fishing was a very long ride out there. So we agreed. Leaving it to his professional expertise for taking care of clients. We had a very rough ride out 1 1/2 hours to go for Red Snapper. Only 1 seat that had padding on it that seated 2 people. The younger ones don’t mind getting bounced around as much as the older ones who walked away very sore. When we finally got on the fish Capt Brad did the best he could while it was Fast & Furious. A little short on bait for the trip he suggested and NO Ice in the cooler to keep the fish fresh. We did catch our limit. He had different fishing rod/reels but only gave direction on 1 set up so that left others to figure out the reels for themselves. Having fished offshore before off the Florida Keys and in California. This was my least enjoyable trip. For my sons it was “ok”. For our friends it was “ok”. I was disappointed that the 5 others that I brought along didn’t have a better “First Time” offshore fishing experience. He didn’t ask us our names. only made small talk when trolling around a oil rig for 20 minutes on the way back. I would suggest that if a person wants to go out into deep waters that you take a bigger boat with a first mate. It will make a world of difference to you in the world of off shore shore fishing experience.

Ray I am sorry to hear that you where not satisfied. I tried to go above and beyond to please you and your crew. I upgraded your trip to a snapper trip which was a $350 difference for no charge. I was trying to give you boys a good offshore experience. Sorry that you did not appreciate the courtesy upgrade.
Thanks Mike.Tight lines….Donnie
