Captain Taylor and first mate Drew were amazing. They got us on fish trolling to our first spot before we even got there. We bottomed fished the first half of the trip and trolled for big game the second. We loaded the box with huge fish that were fun to fight, anywhere from giant grouper to hard fighting barracuda to the energetic amberjacks he had us on em all! Other than the fish they made us feel at home and comfortable from the start. Rough seas made it tough for a few of us but it didn’t stop us from crushing it!  Already planning another trip with them in the short future. One of the best charters I’ve taken.

It was a little choppy with swells around 3 feet which I’m sure made it challenging for the Captain and First Mate to keep us on the fish. Taylor and Drew were awesome and Drew must be the hardest working first mate in the business. We didn’t catch a ton of fish because for the majority of our trip it would have been too rocky to drop anchor and trolling is always a waiting game. When the seas calmed down Captain Taylor put us right on a huge school of snapper and our lines weren’t in the water 30 seconds when the bites hit time after time. We caught so many we started throwing them back. No need to waste them! In the end we caught 2 barracuda, one amberjack, several grey snapper, black sea bass and a king mackerel that got away. Caught a small grouper that lives to see another day as well. The crew was thoughtful, fun and knowledgeable and we couldn’t be happier with our trip. What happens on the open seas stays on the open seas ;) Would highly recommend.

We initially booked a full day trip with Captain Mike. It was suppose to be five guys going. Once we got to North Carolina everyone canceled. I spoke my concern to captain Mike and he offered for us to just do a half day and I’d bring my 5 year old son. From the very first moment they were friendly and very helpful with me and my son. Could not ask for a better experience. We booked a four hour trip that started at 6 am. By 8:30 we had limited out on Spanish Mackerel and blues. Also we almost landed a big black tip shark. The deck hand Robert was awesome and made my son feel very comfortable for being his first time fishing like this. We were gone by 10:30 with plenty of fish cleaned and bagged, great memories, and an overall amazing experience. This was my sixth time booking an ocean fishing trip and was by far my best. Best captan and deck hand I’ve ever had an experience of fishing with. Highly recommend!! If we ever come back to North Carolina we will be booking again!! Thanks Captain Mike and Robert!!!

Would recommend using this charter to anyone. The crew was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us about the type of fish we were after, the tackle and equipment we used.
We were ages 9 to 62 and were all accommodated.
The fish were cleaned,  bagged and even put on some ice for us.
Will definitely try to fit in a four hour trip again next time we visit Top Sail.
