Captain John made sure we were able to enjoy every minute of our trip. It was like going fishing with a buddy. Fun to hang out with and knew how to get us on the fish. Caught lots of bluefish to take back home. Next time weโre in Hatteras we will be sure to book him again. Highly recommend!

Most of our party were inexperienced with fishing but Captโn John was very personable and patient with the entire group! We caught a stingray that we released and a bluefish that we kept! We hoped for more, but overall everyone had a fabulous time! We recommend!

I booked a 2-hour chartered fishing trip for myself and my two kids, hoping to create some fun memories on the water. Despite our excitement and the effort to stay optimistic, we didnโt catch a single fish the whole time.
CPT John was friendly and the boat was in good shape, but with two hours on the water and nothing to show for it, we left feeling more disappointed than anything else.
If youโre booking a trip like this for younger kids or a short excursion, Iโd recommend asking how active the bite has been lately and what they do to keep families engaged when the fish arenโt biting. It just wasnโt the experience we hoped for.

I think your expectations are a little high for a 2 hour trip and like I recommended at the end of trip you should book a 4 hour trip next time (wether itโs with me or someone else)because it gives you more time and more options to make something happen. The entire experience was phenomenal from the moment I booked the trip to the moment we stood on the docks, with Evan watching in sheer amazement as you expertly filleted our dinner catch in seconds! Thank you so much for a wonderful first charter trip for us! Darren and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness you put into your business, from reaching out with an initial phone call to customizing the trip to accommodate our touristy whims! I wouldโve been fine with a lovely boat ride; how you got the weather AND fish to magically co-operate is above and beyond!! ๐ Additionally, we were honored to meet and be present for Trapperโs first full charter to sea-ย he is such a sweetheart! We think you should bring him every time- he could be your mascot!
Footnote- the blue fish is meaty and good; however, our favorite newest fish is Spanish mackerel for sure! We will definitely book a longer charter with you the next time weโre in town and try our hand at mucking around for clams!!!
