I am an experienced fisherman and have been out on a bunch of deep sea trolling charters. I was looking for something different and more hands on. If you are looking for a jigging charter this is your best option. Went out by myself with the captain. He did a great job explaining how to jig. (completely different than jigging I am used to)ย Iโll admit, it was MUCH harder than he makes it look. He did a great job explaining everything. We got 3 good sized amberjack over the rail. All in all, I learned a new technique and had a great day on the water. I would definitely book again.

My buddy and I fish all over the US, from Florida keys to California and all the way to Hawaii. I wouldnโt say we are experts, but we have high standards. Captain Akihiro is very hardcore and technical, he would want to teach you and get things done properly like a pro. Trip is 100% jogging oriented, no trolling, or baits, just with metal jigs. We caught 4 fish(2x AJ, 1X GT, 1X Ehu) under 6 hours and headed back early as we were super gased. Would def come back again, itโs one of a kind. One small note it, captain does charge an additional fee for Rod/reel/jig usage, might want to keep that in mind. Might be better to notify fisherman ahead of time as Iโm sure some ppl would complain about it. -DST

Fishing with Captain Akihiro Morioka owner of Jigging Honolulu was a blast. He specializes in the technique of fast pitched jigging. It is a challenge to learn, but we got it down pat. We caught 5 fish: 3 giant trevally (GT), 1 uku known as the blue-green snapper and a kagami ulua (mirror thread fin trevally). I had an amazing experience on this jigging trip. The captain is very experienced and knew exactly where to find the fish. I was really lucky that day - I had a very high hook-up rate. Although I lost two fish due to the hook coming off and had five break off after hooking. I still ended up landing seven fish. Overall, it was an unforgettable and thrilling fishing trip. Highly recommend it.
This was our second trip. Captain Akihiro is very skilled at jigging. It was fun to learn more technique and practice. We hooked up quite a few times. Very fun, would recommend it, as itโs more action fishing than other charters. Water can be choppy so take your seasickness medicine and bring rain jacket. Thanks and see you again Captain!
