Caught a sailfish right off the bat. Fought another for a while but it came off. Had several others hit including a marlin. Eymhus is awesome and apparently very knowledgeable in the billfish category because that was a lot of action in a short period time. We pretty much sold out on billfish, but slid in for a little jigging action and a battle with a shark to finish the trip. Had a blast fishing with Eymhusโs young son too. If i come back to costa rica, my boys are definitely going to be on this trip. I just cant get over what he can accomplish from that little boat. Great work crew! God bless you guys.

We were informed in the morning that Capt. Eymus had a boat issue and his brother Henry โ the kingfisherโ would be taking us out on his boat. Not a problem as Henry showed us a good trip even though the weather was not so good. Henry worked his tail off trying to get fish to bite despite the rouge sea. We could see fish stacked up on the graph at his favorite spot but could not get them to cooperate for us. He changed lures, colors and speed but no luck. We moved to a new area and Henry put on his โluckyโ lure and we started catching fish. He showed great determination in getting fish on the line.

My 6-year-old daughter and I had an unforgettable morning on the water with Captain Eymhus and First Mate Juan. We launched from the beach in Tamarindo around 7AM aboard the Pichel - Iโll admit I was a little nervous about the smaller boat, but Eymhus put me at ease immediately. When he learned we had a young one on board, he made a thoughtful call to stay within 6 miles of shore. He even mentioned he had a 13-year-old daughter of his own. Once we cleared the national park boundary about ~3 miles out, we dropped lines and began trolling the reef. For the next four hours, Eymhus and Juan worked tirelessly - swapping lures, monitoring the radio, reading the water - all while making sure my daughter was having the time of her life. They pointed out flying manta rays and dolphins, expertly navigated the wake from larger boats, and kept the mood fun and engaging throughout. A little wind-driven spray was the only reminder we were at sea.
With just 15 minutes left before we planned to head in, magic happened. A sailfish appeared behind our lines. Eymhus calmly coaxed it into striking, and ten minutes later we were celebrating a landed sailfish on the near the deck. The boat erupted. Watching my daughterโs face in that moment is something Iโll never forget. If youโre visiting Tamarindo and debating whether to book an authentic fishing trip that wonโt break the bank - especially with kids - stop debating. Captain Eymhus and Juan delivered a world-class experience. Highly recommend.

Great crewโknowledgeable, friendly, and kept things fun throughout the trip. The boat was well-equipped, with an upgraded motor and a great sun cover, which made for a comfortable experience.
Unfortunately, the wind kept us from reaching the original fishing spot, and we didnโt land any big catchesโbut thatโs why its called fishing, not catching, and definitely not a reflection on the crew.
We still saw plenty of sea life and had an overall fantastic day on the water!
