I booked online with fishing booker. When we arrived the boat was not in the water. Which was understandable. We get on the boat. Captain Richard sullen caught the bait and then goes to take us out. As he starts to pull away from the dock he tells our group he almost canceled on us because he had just worked too much and really wasn’t wanting to deal with the charter.

Then the equipment on the boat didn’t work properly. The motor on the front of the boat wouldn’t work and he couldn’t get the boat to stop from spinning around or moving with the current. He didn’t have proper fishing equipment and had even asked another charter boat next to us if they had an extra pole. He continued to have trouble with the fishing equipment.

Couldn’t find batteries or get the remote to work. He finally found batteries, but of course the problem continued. He didn’t speak to the children or 3 adults on the boat very politely and wasn’t very helpful with teaching us how to use the equipment or fish in the area.

We are from Missouri and fishing is a little different here. We caught two fish he said were trash and he threw them back. Then my nephew caught a flounder and he couldn’t find a tape measure to even make sure it was a legal size fish to keep.

Again he looked around and 10 minutes later he found the tape measure. He spoke too much about his personal life. It was one thing to talk about alcohol but to bring up Marijuana in front of the children was uncalled for. He was snippy and snapped at the kids for reeling the sinker up to the tip top of the pole. I understand not wanting to break the equipment, but it was not very professional to be so rude. Instead he could have used that opportunity to teach us and show us the right way.

One of my nephews caught a small fish so captain decided to take his pole cuz he wanted to see if he could catch a fish. Then he would complain because we had trouble with our lines getting caught in the current and we kept getting stuck on the rocks. At one point I sat and waited for a new hook to be put on the line and one of the adults on the trip was like hell I will put the hook on, we aren’t completely clueless.

My nephew caught a small fish and it was bleeding, the fish of course flopped around and he was snappy to him about getting the fishes blood on the boat. Because it would stain it. I know that he rides a harley and has a truck and they are all white cuz he showed us those pictures, instead of teaching us and helping us to have a great experience. 

Then top the trip off with him showing us his infected chest!!!! Telling us about his personal life and girlfriend. How she had staph infection and was laying on his chest and gave it to him. Then asked us if we thought he should go to the doctor. I also don’t mind offering a captain a beer, but I think it’s rude and unprofessional to ask paying customers if you can have one of their beverages.

I was gonna give the captain a 100 dollar tip on top of the 600 I had paid, 150 online with my credit card and 450 in cash when we arrived. What an unprofessional captain. Sadly he got paid, and we got a crappy fishing trip.

Thank goodness my family was just happy to be out with each other. I feel like I deserve a refund. At this point I do not recommend this charter and captain with reel fishing charters and I don’t recommend fishing booker either.

Boat broke down. Men had to bait their own hooks. Once boat broke down, did not offer a ride back to their vehicle. Wives had to come and get them. Men said they did more work than the captain crew did. Once the boat Broke down, was not offered anything as far as a refund. And on top of that, captain kept the fish because he said he could not clean it at that location. Worst experience ever

Very personable but didn’t seem very prepared.  Complained a lot about us losing his weights and didn’t give very good instruction about getting hung.  Equipment was not very well prepared.  Captain didn’t have a very good attitude.  Maybe y’all were just having a bad day that day.  Either way, I will probably not bring my 13 yr old again.

The captain was rude,  very hateful,  he wasn’t ready when we arrived we spent our first our trying to catch bait , which he was unsuccessful at. Then he spent 2 hours worrying about other boats ,  was hateful because we had sand on our shoes and tracked it in his boat. The weather got bad and caused us to not get our full 6 hours, and didn’t give us a discount , as we came through the storm he never offered life jackets to anyone in the boat,  and we had a 10 year old in the boat, I wouldn’t recommend this guy . We truly feel that he robbed us of $720.00 he’s basically a clown on the water.
