Captain Buddy was very welcoming from the beginning!  He avoided a rain storm and had us catching fish within minutes of casting our lines. It was a very successful day for us on the water! The morning flew by and we had a great time. We would highly recommend him and would fish with him in the future!

Went about 4.5 miles out and fished the shallows.  About 6 ft water.  Buddy is professional and very pleasant.  Easy Captain to spend the day with.  Of course, he knows how to catch fish too.  We caught a variety of species.  Snapper, trout and Spanish mackerel the most common catch.  Buddy also cleaned the fish afterwards and we have more than we can eat.  I’d recommend Buddy for 1-3 people anytime.

I don’t do reviews but for Capt Buddy I’ll make an exception! What an amazing experience for my son and I. The most salt of the earth person I’ve met in a long long time. If you’re looking for a great family experience in the keys the search is over. Can’t wait to do it again!

We booked a three quarter day with Capt. Buddy for 12/2/19 and stopped by the marina on 12/1/19 and saw him.  Due to the forecast of bad weather for the 2nd. he recommended that we go out at 1:00 P.M. on the 4th. for a half day. It turned out to be the best day.  Capt. Buddy put us right on top of Spanish Mackerel and Mangrove Snappers that were the largest I’ve ever caught.  The action was fast and furious and he was so helpful in landing the fish.  I really appreciated the fact that he was quick to share his knowledge rigging up, hooking on the bait, and spent all the time in the world assisting my wife to enable her to catch her share of fish. We fished right up to the last moment to be able to return to the dock before darkness and then he and I cleaned them in very dim light and he got his flashlight to finish the job. We took some beautiful filets home.
It was a fantastic day and the highlight of our week in the Florida Keys. I will recommend Capt. Buddy LaPointe to everyone who wants to go on a charter.  He is truly a real Gentleman.

We booked two full days with Capt. Buddy out of Marathon. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate the second day, and we couldn’t go out (he did not charge us for the second day). But the first day was great.  We caught spanish mackeral then used a few to catch a black tip shark. It was fun watching such a large creature jump out of the water. We also caught trout, red snapper and a total of 14 species.  I wanted a barracuda, but after a few follows without strikes Capt. Buddy said the water just wasn’t quite warm enough.

Capt. Buddy was very knowledgable and friendly, and a patient instructor on different fishing techniques.  His boat was very quiet even running 25 mph allowing conversation on the runs. He kept 4 of us catching fish, which wasn’t easy on that size boat. His equipment was all in good repair.

I would definitely fish with him again and hope to bring my young boys next time. Besides, he still owes me a barracuda.
