Captain Charlie is the best out there. We are Florida natives and grew up fishing. Chartered Captain Charlie for a 1/2 day with the my boys. We caught a ton of snapper and nobody works harder than Captain Charlie. Excellent equipment, knowledge and character. We will be back for a full day charter when time permits. I have been fishing the upper Florida keys with my family for years and Captain Charlie was fantastic. He is a fourth generation key largo resident and knows these waters inside and out. Very friendly, excellent with the kids, clean boat, and captain Charlie taught us all better fishing techniques. Will recommend without reservation. What a great trip we had with Captain Charlie! Our trip was scheduled to leave at 7:30am but due to weather conditions Captain Charlie personally called to recommend we wait until the afternoon, we greatly appreciated this! What a beautiful day it turned out being! Captain Charlie immediately put us on the fish and we limited out on yellow tail snapper. Highly recommend Captain Charlie, he is a hard worker and was communicative and on time.  We caught fish and we had a great time!  His boat was clean and fueled and iced up at the dock before we arrived.  We would definitely book again with Against the Grain.

Had an amazing day with Captain Charlie. He knows the area like the back of his hand and we were able to get into a number of fish species. I also learned a lot of new techniques. The boat and equipment are all top conditioning. Got into some nice yellowtail snapper and had a number of bit hits both wreck fishing and trolling, but lost them on the retrieve. I had a great day and will be calling Captain Charlie again next year!
