Went on a trip with the crew and had a really good time! It was suppose to be the monsoon season and it was supposed to be a rainy day but thankfully the weather was surprisingly really good that day. The boat was very clean and the upper deck was a really nice place to chill and enjoy the scenery. Though the bite rates were slow that day, the crew tried their best to bring us to different spots to catch the fishes. In the end we caught 2 tunas (the bigger one at least 2kg heavy) trolling and one puffer fish when bottom fishing. Not the best fishing rates but my mother and I still greatly enjoyed ourselves! The deckhand Andy also helped to sashimi the tuna and it was as fresh as we could possibly get! Really appreciate the crew’s hard work in making this trip possible! Thank you!!

My 13-year-old wanted to do deep sea fishing for his birthday, and we decided to take the whole family. The communication with Sergei was excellent, and the Guzel worked great for our big group. We weren’t prepared for open ocean waves (most of us got a bit seasick), so we asked to pull up to a closer island and take a break. The water was amazing, and lunch was the best Thai food we’ve eaten in a long time. We also Googled how to avoid seasickness, and did much better on the way home (in fact, they took the long way home and we caught a bunch more fish). Perfect day out on the water!

A very clean boat and equipment exceptionally well maintained..

Deckhand was a true “fishing is my life” guy and efforts he put in was rewarded with a few decent fish. Granted we lost a few too.

Based on high scores, we chose Funthaisea Game Fishing – Guzel. We were received excellently, but when we boarded the boat, we realized we had gotten a different boat than the one pictured. It appeared poorly maintained and dirty, and bore the name of another charter company. The fact that the crew didn’t speak any English wouldn’t have been a problem if they had been service-minded, but unfortunately, we found the crew more interested in each other and a small boy who was also on board than in us as guests. When we were trolling, there was little activity in terms of trying different types of bait, etc., and for bottom fishing, the equipment was of varying quality and contained errors that limited the joy of fishing. We also wanted to try jigging, but the crew was busy with that on the foredeck, so we couldn’t try that method. I tried to communicate with the crew about various things, but with their very limited English skills, this was difficult. The lunch on board was okay, but the hygiene of the crew was not satisfying so that eating was not very appealing. All in all, a poor experience.

Great crew, knowledgeable, in what they were doing. Had a great time.
