Very knowledgeable and skilled Captain. Easy to chat with and (even though my trip was just two hours) put me right on the fish and we had some good early success. I'm just a beginner but he was very patient, will certainly try and book again for a longer trip.

Highly recommend spending a day on the water with Captain Shawn! He’s a great communicator and his fishing enthusiasm + knowledge is next level. He called the day before our trip and said the tarpon were biting… a fish my 15 year old son and I had dreamed about but never landed. Shawn put us on the fish and was really patient with us tarpon newbies, teaching us about tarpon habitat and catching techniques. We caught multiple tarpon (among other species) and my son declared it “the best day of fishing” he’s ever had. We’ll definitely go out with Shawn next time we’re in Islamorada.
We did a 2 hour sunset trip with our 2 boys ages 12 and 9. Captain Shawn was very knowledgeable of the area. His boat is very comfortable and my kids were reeling in fish left and right. Captain Shawn was very patient with our kids as they are pretty new to fishing. He was cracking jokes and had them feeling comfortable and confident quickly. We seen a crocodile, shark and some manatees as well. Captain Shawn filleted a few of our fish for us and after our trip we went over to Lorelei and they cooked up our fresh catch. The whole experience was a lot of fun and our kids said it was the best part of our trip. We will definitely be coming back for the 4 hour trip next time we are in Islamorada.
Captain Shawn was incredibly knowledgeable and well prepared for our 6 hour trip. Even though we had a late season cold front we were able to catch our limit of Trout. Along the way we caught a Goliath Grouper, Tarpon, a few Red fish, and many more. I can’t recommend Captain Shawn enough. We had such a great trip, we booked him for a full day tomorrow!
