  We had a great day fishing. The kids had a great time and our son who really likes fishing loved it. The weather conditions with the wind would have been impossible for us to even try fishing so we really appreciated the expertise and help. There were a lot of technical things we wouldn't have known anything about and the behaviors of the fish in order to be successful in fishing today. The experience made it way more relaxing and enjoyable for us as parents. Our teenager didn't want much to do with it but she did bring in a couple of fish so it was flexible which was also great. I would recommend this for all skill levels and all ages of kids.

  Unexpected catch!

  We showed up about 45 minutes late, but the captain was super understanding and didn’t make it an issue at all, which we really appreciated. It was me, two friends, and their two kids, and he made the whole experience easy and enjoyable for everyone. Within the first hour, we already hit our limit. We even released some of the smaller ones and kept fishing just for fun. Biggest trout we caught was around 17–18 inches. Average size was about 14 inches. Captain was friendly, patient, and made sure we all had a great time—especially the kids. Overall, a really fun trip and definitely worth it. Would book again.

  Great day on the water!

  4hr. AM Boat Trip on August 6, 2026 • 2 adults

  Captain Shawn recommended Chatfield Reservior for Small mouth Bass or Trout. His familiarity with the reservior and the fact it was approx. 7 ft. belw normal played a huge roll in our options. Captain Shawn had been tracking an ara of trout so we headed there for the next 4 hours . Shawn set me up and over the next few hours I caught over 15 trout averaging 18" to 22" and all Rainbows. Thanks Captain Shawn for giving me an amazing opportunity on the water. Worth every penny spent. Truly appreciate all you've done.

  Big trout…& big fun!

  Captain Shawn was fantastic. We caught number of trout in a variety of sizes on ultralight gear. As a fisherman from the Midwest I enjoyed the challenge of learning new styles of fishing. Trout are finicky and can be fragile. Captain Shawn found a great balance in putting us on fish, figuring out what they were hitting on and how deep all while respecting the natural resource. Great job and i will rebook his services when I’m back in Denver! Next time it’s a Bass trip!

  Captain shawn was very informative and put us on lots of fish in exstemely difficult conditions ( warm and low water) in the lake. we caught muiltiple rainbow trout around 20”
