  We had an absolutely fantastic day fishing with Aqua Fishing Charters, Josué and his son. From the very beginning, they were incredibly friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything in detail, shared a lot of their experience with us and made the whole trip both exciting and enjoyable. You can really tell that they know these waters and are passionate about fishing. The absolute highlight of the day was catching a White Marlin — an unforgettable experience and a fish I will definitely remember for the rest of my life! A huge thank you to Josué and his son for making this such a special day. Great people, great knowledge and a fantastic fishing experience. Highly recommended! We would definitely fish with Aqua Fishing Charters again! 🎣

  Bluefin Tuna Trip 29/06/26 - Dreams Do Come True!

  Just had an amazing fishing trip with Captain Josue and his two crew onboard Aqua X. I consider myself to be fortunate to have been looking at going fishing whilst on holiday and messaging Josue prior to my travelling. I asked about the fishing and if i could get on a charter(Any charter/Any fish) where i could share with other people. Josue managed to arrange a Bluefin Tuna Trip with another person and so i booked the trip. Booking was easy and Josue responds quickly to questions and sends out very clear information about your trip. On the morning of the trip Josue called me to confirm that all the information i had timings/meeting place were still the same and to ring him when i was at the quayside as he would arrange to have someone transport me to the boat. The boat is good and offers shade/rest areas, a toilet. Snacks and refreshments were also provided. Fishing equipment was also very good. Once onboard Captain Josue introduces everybody and explains the day ahead. As me and the other angler Bob are experienced anglers but novice (To put it politely) Tuna anglers Captain Josue explains the process if we hook into a Tuna. The crew then go through the process with you. This i found to be really helpfull and comes into its own when a fish is hooked as at this stage everything happens at 1million miles per hour. We had a hook up midmorning but the fish slipped the hook after thirty seconds. Luckily the Tuna Gods were smiling on us and we had another strike which after over an hours battle we managed to get it alongside the boat. The fish was quickly unhooked and we got to admire the beauty of a truly magnificent fish whilst it was checked over for a few moments and allowed to recover before being safely returned. Basically you cannot go wrong in booking Captain Josue, the boat, his crew, the equiment all first class. So for this alone top marks 5 stars across the board. Now you don't always catch and today i was very lucky in that regard but it helps with good hard working people around you with the best equipment. Today a dream came true! Thank you Captain Josue, the crew and Aqua X!!!!

  Best day out on the water, period!

  Reef Fishing Experience • Half Day on May 11, 2026 • 2 adults

  If you’re in the Algarve and want some proper reef fishing, you’ve got to book with Áqua. I’ve done a few charters before, but this was easily the highlight of my trip. The energy was great from the start and, more importantly, we actually caught fish! Captain Josué really knows his stuff. He took us straight to the best spots and we were getting bites all day. I managed to land a massive 4kg pargo which was the highlight, but we had plenty of other quality catches too. Josué keeps it fun, relaxed, and knows exactly how to find the fish. Already looking forward to the next one aboard Áqua. Cheers guys!

  Great half-day trip!

  We had a great experience with Josue since I contacted him, and even before the reservation. I reached out asking about certain big-game-fish and expressing my interest, Josue was very especific since the beginning about what fish was possible to find and which we would not find (what I was looking for was out of reach). The fact that he said he could not take me to fish what I wanted because it was not the season for it, to me was a sign of both trust and knowledge. This made me ask about what type of fish was available in the season I would be in town for, and since it was our first time, we booked a three-person fishing trip for a Sunday morning. He was incredibly responsive by the app, then, in-person him and his son were kind, fun, knowledgeable, patient, and we had a great time. We will be coming back in July to catch the type of fish I was originally looking for. The trip was personal, private, genuine, easy, and fun. I highly recommend them!

  Five stars - An absolutely unforgettable fishing experience in Tavira

  Reef Fishing Experience • Half Day on April 4, 2026 • 2 adults • 1 child

  If you are looking for the best fishing experience in the Algarve, look no further than this. My son and I just spent five hours out on the water with the captain and his son William, and it was hands down one of the best days of our entire holiday. From the moment we stepped on board, the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and completely professional. Both English was outstanding - clear, friendly, and genuinely engaging throughout the whole trip. We never felt lost or left out for a single moment. Now for the numbers: 81 fish in five hours. Yes, really. I would not have believed it myself if I had not been there pulling them in alongside my son. But what truly set this experience apart was the passion these guys bring to what they do. For every single species we caught, he gave us recipes - actual, practical cooking tips on how to prepare each fish properly. That kind of knowledge and enthusiasm is rare and made the whole trip feel like so much more than just fishing. Highest possible recommendation.
