It was a birthday present for my son, an avid angler and novice at fly fishing. There are guides and there are masters. Kevin is a master. We worked with us to fine tune mechanics of various casts based on situation and observation. Massively patient and communicative. The catches were cataloged in photos when were provided free of charge. Top Water provided great communication before and after the trip. The investment and importance in the time and equipment provided. We intend to book Top Water again in the future.
We went kayaking for smallmouth on the Schuylkill. Have I been in a kayak before? Dozens of times. Had I maneuvered in fast/shallow water before? Nope. Kevin was a pro, communicated clearly, stayed nearby to give immediate assistance, gave great tips and teaching, and jumped out to wade while holding the kayaks to give me max fishing time! He also brought lunch and extra water and snacks. Great trip!
Kevin is very knowledgeable and very willing to explain everything that he is doing and that you were doing throughout the day. We had a great day out on the water and we’re able to hit many locations to give us the best odds to have a good catch. I would highly recommend Kevin to anybody from a novice to even the most experienced.
