Bachelor trip was disappointing.
To start off, Reese and Tod did a great job and did as they were told. Hats off to them. Booked this trip more than a month ago for my bachelors trip. On this app, the date and time was available so I got it. Hour later, get a call from Scott and was told that it wasn’t available because it was already taken by someone he already had but had to reschedule due to weather issues. Which was okay by us, tried to move to another weekend but couldn’t due to work schedules so Scott said he can still take us out that same day BUT after his AM trip. Cool with us. Was told that we were going to head out at 2:30pm, we arrived at 2:00pm. Unfortunately, didn’t leave until 3:00pm, didn’t make a big deal out of it. So we leave and limited out on Red Snapper quick. Was looking forward to catching other species of fish. We were back at the dock right at 8:00pm. We felt really rushed on having to make our way back to the dock. I paid for 8 hours of fishing and only got 5 hours. That is $1800 plus $600 to cover fuel, bait and ice, $2400 total. Was told that we needed to be back before dark due to safety, which is understandable, but wished this was communicated to us beforehand. Would have I known, would’ve cancelled and booked with someone else to receive what I paid for. Had a talk with Scott after the trip and said that we can throw in those 3 hours on another trip, IF we book with him again. After the disappointing experience, don’t think I would. Also, the address shown here on this app is wrong. We booked an Airbnb close to the address that’s shown here but ended up finding out that I needed to be in Freeport not Galveston, which was an hour drive. Didn’t find out until I called and asked just to double check. This could’ve also been communicated to us. Overall, I feel like miscommunication was the problem here. Again, grateful for the time Reese and Todd took to take us out.

I do want to clarify that the decision to move the trip from the morning to the afternoon was made specifically to accommodate your group. We try very hard to work with every customer and make adjustments whenever possible rather than simply canceling a trip. Once we left the dock, we ran the boat harder than normal to get to the fishing grounds as quickly as possible so that you still received the same amount of actual fishing time with hooks in the water. We also had plenty of communication throughout the process so everyone knew what was going on. Leaving out of Freeport instead of Galveston also saved more than two hours of boat riding time getting to the same fishing grounds. That meant less time riding and more time actually fishing. Again, I’m sorry that you were disappointed. Our goal at Big Dawg Outfitters is always to give our customers the best experience we possibly can.
