Hunter really knew some great spots. We caught snook, barracuda, trout, grouper and snapper. We also saw a mama and baby dolphin. Hunter was really friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend fishing with Hunter.
I am a 70 year old Florida local and have been on the water since I was 9. My friend of nearly 50 years was in town from Lake Tahoe and I wanted him to catch fish. I picked Captain Hunter Wilcox because he works the Skyway area and that area presents the opportunity for the greatest variety of fish to be caught in Pinellas County. We caught fish at nearly ever stop. Topped it off by my friend catching a Tournament worthy 40 pound to 50 pound King Mackerel that we were able to take pictures of and release healthy. It was everything you could ask for in a charter and Captain Hunter Wilcox worked hard to make it that way. Great Captain, terrific fishing trip!
Cpt Hunter is amazing. He knows these waters well and gets even the most inexperienced fishermen, that’s us, on to fish and land them. We hook into 5 tarpon that were well over 100lbs and one pushing 200. We landed 3 of the 5 and that was just a half day. Hunter is kind, enthusiastic, helpful and makes the fishing experience great for all of us that included kids and adults. We cannot say enough good and positive things in this review. Amazing trip!!!
I fished with Hunter 4 hrs (A.M.) near shore and then 6 hrs inshore two days later, and was extremely pleased with the experience. This was my first saltwater fishing after years of freshwater angling. I learned a lot and we caught a good number and variety of fish, including mackerel, bonita, grouper, snook, spotted trout, redfish, and others. I intend to return to go for tarpon in season, and it will definitely be with Cap. Hunter and Lock It Down. It was awesome fun. Very highly recommended!
Captain Hunter was timely and well prepared for our day on the fish. Fish were a little slow to bite, but he put us right on top of some big schools of snook and black drum. Captain Hunter did a great job of shuddering rigs, tactics and locations to land us on the schools. We caught some beautiful snook and one speckled trout before the birds and dolphins scared the fish. Captain Hunter was attentive, knowledgeable and easy going. I would definitely go fishing with Captain Hunter again!
