Half day trip with Thomas from local fishing charters.
I booked this fishing trip a few months in advance for my fathers birthday. My first message to Thomas was asking about any extra fees and he let me know there wasn’t any. The afternoon before our trip I reached out to Thomas to confirm our departure time of 7:00AM. He let me know that he had changed the time to 10:00 and was unapologetic when I let him know that wouldn’t work because we had made plans for the afternoon. We decided to still go fishing because we had already paid the deposit. At 10:27 Thomas showed up to the dock and we headed out to sea. We began trolling for mahi about 2 miles off the shore and after about 20 minutes he decided we would be better off bottom fishing at the reef. We passed one rod around between the 5 of us for the next couple hours and did not catch anything. (This is not the reason for the poor review but it was a bummer). While we were fishing, Thomas was on the phone making afternoon plans with his friends. I assumed we would stay out fishing for an extra 30 minutes due to the late departure but that was not the case. When we got back to the dock Thomas added a credit card fee of 5% even though I had asked for any fees to be disclosed earlier. I let him know I was disappointed with the fee and the late departure time and he did not care. When I let him know that we missed afternoon plans because of the late departure he told us it was our fault for making plans on a fishing day. Lol. All in all this is not a company I could recommend. Do your homework before booking and find someone who is going to care about delivering a positive experience.
You don’t have a right to leave me a review after not paying for your charter!! You disputed the credit card transaction with your bank as “fraud” and accepted a refund against me, this is stealing and just flat out wrong. $500 you stole from me because you were upset about a $17 credit card fee. This information you have provided is false. I let you know several days in advance about the time change, and I offered you a refund and discount. Not to mention in that same conversation we had discussed the 4.5% service fee that the company adds to credit cards. We caught several vermillion snapper, amber jacks, and a red grouper(undersized). Upon return to the dock you tried to leave without paying me, cursed and yelled like a child and then proceeded to put down me and my business venture. I have notified the other local captains as well as fishing booker and your bank. I am extremely disappointed that there are people as scummy as you out there in the world.
