Sam did a wonderful job putting us on fish under some tough conditions. We had a steady easterly wind at about 25 knots, Sam worked through it confidently. He was extremely motivated, thoughtful, and patient all day. We had a mixed bag day with three Tarpon, many Speckled Sea Trout, plus Ladyfish, and a couple of Sharks. Can't wait to fish with Sam again!

Had a great day fishing with Sam. Good guy, he knows where the fish are. He has good equimpment , and being a newby at Tarpon, was very helpful on coaching me on how and where to cast. If you want to flyfish for Tarpon, he is your guy. I plan on fishing with him again.
Sam was a fantastic captain and covered a huge area to find tarpon and some bonefish. Most of the day the tarpon proved elusive, but preservation paid off with a take and run at the back end of the day, but it’s the story of the big one that got away. Nonetheless an awesome experience with captain who was extremely knowledgeable and provided expert guidance for someone sea fly fishing for the first time.
Though there were storms all around us cpt Sam managed to avoid them all and get us into tarpon. Having fished for tarpon in the past I know it is a visual game. For me, I had a hard time spotting them but Sam saw them and got us in casting range even with the wind. He worked his you know what off but with his calm demeanor and work ethic we (he) kept at it. This is my 2nd trip with him.
Like all life it’s the little things that summate to tell you how good something is. I booked Sam for 5 days fly fishing . Each day when I arrived at 7am the boat was already in the water, spotlessly clean and ready to go. A very knowledgeable guide, the real deal. Impressed? I have had guides all over the world. I am working on dates for my next trip with Sam.
