Great day fishing!
Had a great time with Captin Pete and Travis. Been on other charters in the Keys before but this trip was definitely my favorite. Pete is a very personable guy. From start to finish he made us feel welcomed and comfortable. He’s very knowledgeable, showed us some of his methods and talked us through everything. Travis helped take care of us the whole time. We brought home some fish and had a great day out on the water! Definitely will book with Pete next time!

Great trip
Melvin and first mate did the absolute best they could to get us on the fish. Melvin is very knowledgeable and their attitude was always positive. We ended up catching some runners and triple tail. They provided many beverage options and fruit/snacks. Great for all ages.

Catching in Key Largo
We had a fantastic trip with Captain Albert and Kishian. My wife and I have been fortunate to have fished all over the world, and I would place them in the elite class. They did a great job of asking our objectives for the day and putting on what we were targeting. I would recommend them 1000%.

Most fish will be in the range of 8 to 12lbs, but they can outgrow 3ft and 40lbs. Smaller fish school, while adults show more solitary behavior.
Distribution
Rainbow Runners can be found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, although in a narrow belt where temperatures are between 70 and 80°F. They are more common offshore at depths of up to 450ft, but are also caught closer to land over reefy/rocky bottoms.
How to catch
As far as bait goes, Rainbow Runners aren't fussy eaters and squid or any local small fish such as mullet or whiting will work well. Additionally, they will take a wide range of artificials like metal slices, plugs, skirted or soft plastic lures, but also poppers and flies.
Good to eat?
The flesh is good eating, white and firm textured.
