Capt. Charlies Fishing Charters offers a great range of trips, targeting hard-fighting fish in any depth of water. Fish the backcountry for Trout, Redfish, Snook, Tarpon and other inshore legends. Otherwise, head up to nine miles out in search of Grouper, Cobia, Kingfish, and more.
Capt. Charlie Cooper has spent his life honing his skills, and knows all the best places to hit in the Fort Myers area. And with mile after mile of perfect flats, hidden bayous, and open sounds, there is a lot to choose from.
In order to get the most out of the area, you will be fishing aboard a 23 ft privateer center console. This sturdy boat is as at home on the flats as she is on the reefs, and her clean-burning 2021 Suzuki outboard means you can travel at speed without choking on smelly diesel fumes.
The vessel has a trolling motor for combing the backcountry and a range of marine electronics for sounding out deeper water. Wherever you fish, nothing brings big hits faster than a livewell full of fresh bait. Combine it with quality tackle in a variety of weight ranges, and you're ready to take on anything the ocean throws at you.
Of course, Capt. Charlie knows that every angler fishes differently. During your trip, you can troll, jig, spin, pop, and drift your way to great catches. You can even bring your fly fishing gear along if you want.
All bait, licenses, and local knowledge come as standard, so all you have to do is show up! Bring your food and drinks and plenty of sunscreen, and get ready for a great day on the water.

Half Day Trip on May 6, 2026 • 1 adultI highly recommend Captain Charlie. The Communication was great for coordinating the trip. We got into a school of jacks, we got some trout, some spanish mackerel, a gag grouper, and a shark. That was a ton of fun and so cool to see the school and all the different fish we caught. I was happy to pull off 3 keeper fish 2 trout and a spanish mackerel. He cleaned those fish for me and did a great job with that as well. He did a great job getting me into some good fish today for my first time ever fishing in the gulf on a boat! I also really appreciated him showing me a ton of basics regarding how to fish in the gulf. His setups for fishing were awesome to fight the jacks on and the other fish. Will be coming back again for sure!

We caught fish, saw the area by boat, had a dolphin show right beside the boat (right place at the right time) and enjoyed Charlie's presence. From the moment we left the dock, it was obvious he knew exactly what he was doing. He caught fresh bait in less than five minutes, and we were catching snapper almost immediately after. Throughout the trip, we caught a ton of fish, including lots of snapper, a blacktip shark, jack, and even a snook! Captain Charlie was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable, making the trip enjoyable for everyone in our family, regardless of experience. Charlie still had an afternoon trip opened and boom. We limited out on Snapper in the mangroves and went out for spotted sea trout and other species. A great time with a lot of catching and only a little bit of fishing. We will definitely be back with Capt. Charlie.

Half Day Trip on June 13, 2026 • 3 adultsAll Ican say is wow! We we’re Catching not Fishing! First spot was popping, we caught 10 Mangrove Snappers. The second Spot was cool, we were hunting for a Tarpon. We didnt get catch one, but caught so many others. Had an amazing day. Captain recommended we take our catch to Lazy Flamingo. They cooked it perfectly and served it family style. We will definitely book Captain Charlie again next time we are in town.
