Sea Dancer Charters offers deep sea and near coastal fishing off of NE Florida. Captain Dennis has over 50 years of local knowledge, and will provide a memorable trip for all, from the youngest angler to the seasoned veteran.
From the get- go you'll feel like a proper fisherman as you catch your own live bait! You might cast a net for pogies or use a sabiki rig for spanish sardines and cigar minnows, depending on what you will be going after during your trip.
You can expect to use Penn rods and reels, as well as a braided line. Captain Dennis knows that the equipment is dictated by the fish on the day, he is ready to fish combinations, with light tackle to heavy tackle and everything in between. You can expect a huge variety with Captain Dennis, from Redfish and Flounder to Snappers and Groupers, and even Sailfish, King Mackerels, Cobias (subject to season,) and Amberjacks. He is ready to fish if you are!
If you just want to spend your trip going after one species of fish, Captain Dennis is happy to cater to your needs and accommodate you. But the Sea Dance Charter is best for opportunistic fishing, seeing what's available and being ready to change your fishing technique at a moments notice to optimize on that.
Once the trip has been completed, you can expect to take home some of your catch, cleaned and filleted for your convenience. Please be aware that the catch to take home depends on which fisheries are open, as dictated by the Federal Fisheries.
Trips are normally set for 4 adults, but children from the age of 7 are more than welcome. They can accommodate any combination of adults and children totaling 5. For example, 2 adults and 3 children or 3 adults and 2 children.

Took my wife on this charter for her birthday, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We started the day trolling and landed two impressive kingfish. After that, we headed farther offshore and spent the rest of the trip catching several large red snapper. Captain Dennis has been fishing these waters for decades, and his experience was evident throughout the day. He seemed to know every boat on the water and made us feel completely at home aboard his vessel. His knowledge, professionalism, and friendly personality made for an excellent trip. We had a great time and are already looking forward to booking another charter with him.
We had a great day with Captain Dennis! He taught us how to bottom fish, so we were very active the entire trip and enjoyed learning. We started the day trying to catch fish that we could keep, and caught a couple of sea bass. We also caught a spiny rockfish. After a couple of locations that we weren’t catching much, we moved to an area where we caught a lot of snapper. Every time we put bait in the water, we’d get a catch. We weren’t able to keep any, but it made for a really fun day! We appreciated that Captain Dennis was flexible and prioritized us having a good day with a lot of fish! He was great in teaching us the ropes, and always made sure we had bait on the line. We would go with Captain Dennis again!
Captain Dennis gave us an amazing 4 hour charter filled with fantastic fishing and some history about the naval ships you see leaving and returning to the ramp. This was our first time offshore fishing and Captain Dennis explained to us what to expect and how to use the fishing equipment. We had so much fun! As the pictures show, Captain Dennis knows how to find the fish! He also observed a shrimp boat as we were heading back and followed them to show us the numerous dolphins following along enjoying scraps left in the shrimp boats wake. What a wonderful day! We will be back for another fishing adventure!

We had a great time on April Fools day with Captain Dennis. I brought my son, wife, and sister with me from Michigan and the ladies had never fished before. Captain showed everybody what to do, we caught lots of amazing Red Snappers and had an awesome time. We think a couple of sharks got our lines too. Captain Dennis had lots of stories to tell and told us so much about the NAS at Mayport. He took us right out to an exact spot where there were fish. When the fishing ran cold, he moved us. He was always on the lookout to make sure we were catching fish. It was a beautiful day and I would recommend Captain Dennis for anyone at any experience level.
Captain was very knowledgeable in all areas of the trip. Took us directly to a spot and first fish was on immediately. A rather rough day but, captain made it a smooth safe ride foe thw conditions, i was very impressed with how the captain handled the boat and knew the ocean. We caught several Red Snapper, one Grunt fish and my son hand two different sharks on the line stealing his catch. Sharks were the highlight of the day. Also saw dolphins on the way out. A great day!
