There's a fish with your name on it in Jacksonville and Salty Goat Fishing Company will help you catch it!

Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Red Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, Blackfin Tuna, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Tarpon, Redfish, Sheepshead, and whatever else takes the bait. On these trips, it’s common to spot lock with the trolling motor, drift and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Capt. Andrew believes in teaching kids to fish while they're young, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!

Capt. Andrew will bring you aboard a 22' Pathfinder bay boat with capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait or dead bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Small fish but a great day anyway

4 Hour Trip – Inshore/Near (Noon) on December 29, 2025 • 3 adults

We went underway in good weather, but right as we got to the end of the waterway into the ocean the wind picked up, so we settled for fishing by a rock reef for a while. The wind picked up a lot and a storm began to blow in. This wasn't forecasted and Drew mentioned he'd have canceled had it been in the forecast. We headed back towards the dock and he offered to take us upstream to an inner-coastal waterway where there'd be less turbulence. We fished there for a while and got to boat back to the dock in an epic downpour. Was a fun 4 hours; we caught what he said was the 'biggest toad fish I've ever seen' and a bunch of small stuff. Drew gave us a catch from the morning so we didn't walk away empty handed, and it made for great fish tacos. 10/10 would do again.

A Bucket-List Worthy Fishing Trip with Captain Andrew!

Most Productive Charter I’ve ever been on

4 Hour trip - Afternoon trip on May 9, 2025

I had such a blast fishing for cobia with Andrew with Salty Goat last year that I decided to book again for my girlfriend’s birthday, who is highly prone to sea sickness. He was super helpful with tips to overcome it leading up to the trip and was open to changing up our plan based on how she felt. We went offshore and caught a few kings and despite the day being fairly calm, the girlfriend got sick and we had to head closer to shore. Captain Andrew was very accommodating and asked for our input on a few options. We asked if we could target tarpon and bull reds and he did not disappoint! He worked very hard to keep us rigged up and on top of the fish at all times. We had over 6 tarpon up to the boat and had fun fighting many more! The boat and the gear itself elevated the experience even more. All of his rods are premium blanks customized by his self and reels were smooth. Seems silly to call out but that refined gear really makes it all the better. Highly recommend this guide for people new to it or even experienced anglers looking to learn something new.

We had a great day with Captain Andrew! He was experienced, relaxed, kind and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this trip. Book him if you get a chance! He kept us on the fish all afternoon. We caught 4 species, including a number of tarpon (a fun fight, and so cool to see their “acrobatics”), redfish, and a monster kingfish at the end. Andrew was a great communicator and was super patient with our son. We couldn’t have asked for a better day on the water and we will most definitely book with Andrew again when we are back in town.
