Bass Flats & Beyond - Okeechobee
Bass Flats & Beyond operates around Southeast Florida, getting groups onto that fish of a lifetime in a staggering range of habitats. Our Captains are skilled at catching many types of fish, including largemouth, peacock, snakehead, and clown knifefish. This trip gives you the chance to catch all in one day!
We will start our day out on Lake Okeechobee, where we will be battling huge largemouth bass in the Belle Glade area. This is some of the best Bass action in the state, and you couldn't pick a more beautiful place to do it.
We load up the boat around 10 am or 11 am, travel east to Lake Osborne, and start fishing again for the hard-fighting peacock bass and Clown knifefish. It's a long and full day full of different action!
It will be designed specifically for your desired fishing style, which is enough to have a great day even without fishing! The vessel also has plenty of fishing space, electronics, stereo, and 3 livewells to keep your bait fresh and fighting fit.
Bass Flats & Beyond specializes in successful trips. You will be supplied with tournament-grade conventional tackle and can bring your favorite fly gear along, too. You will also have a range of lures to choose from and provide live bait for a small surcharge.
Just pack your fishing license, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, and any food and drink you want for the day, and you're good to go.
This trip is precisely what makes Florida Bass fishing so good. A seasoned, passionate captain with a great boat, multi-species, and a can-do attitude. Oh, and some incredible fishing teeming with great fish!

I'm probably a tough grader. My day on Okeechobee with John Larsen was great! John is a fine fisherman and a pleasure to spend time with. He knows the lake and kept us safely and comfortably out of the high winds and roughest water all day. Between the two of us, we landed about 10 mid-size bass over 6 hours on the water, all on artifical lures. Ideally, we would have been on the fish more and had a more productive day, but I don't blame John for this. I will definitely hire John on my next trip to Okeechobee (if I can -- he's pretty heavily booked up) and would highly recommend him to anyone who takes their fishing seriously.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback and leaving this recommendation. I wish every day could be a big number of catches, and all big fish, it just does not happen like that. We worked hard, especially with artificial lures to get on them and the biggest ones possible. I am glad you had a great time and look forward to fishing with you again in the future. Till next time!

Captain John knows what hes doing. He got us on fish right away even in super windy weather! We only had a couple hours to fish because of the weather and it felt like we were bring bass in the boat non stop. Captain John has a wealth of knowledge that even experienced anglers can learn from. Highly recommend!
Thank you for fishing with us on Lake Okeechobee and down in the Everglades! Our goal is to make every trip memorable, and we’re glad to hear we delivered. Come back and see us again anytime Justin!

Capt Mark did his best to put us on fish after the cold front came through. Only caught a couple but not from lack of trying. Mark was very knowledgeable and pulled out all the stops to try and make it a good day.
Thanks Tom for this great review. Looking forward to our next trip on the water when it gets warmer.
Captain Cody ensured my son's wish to fish Okeechobee and land Peacock Bass all in one day. Super tough bite on Okeechobee but more than made up for it with 15+ good Peacocks, Chiclid and even a Snake head in the afternoon. Great guy to spend the day with and laughed a lot. Great day. Great experience.
planned a two day fishing trip with Captain John a couple months in advance. Arctic freeze came through a week or two before we fished, really slowed down the fishing. Captain John got us on the Fish anyway, greatly appreciated.
James, thank you so much for this positive feedback and review of our experience. Cold fronts can change up the conditions of fishing but we work hard no matter what the conditions are to get you on the fish. Looking forward to seeing you again!
