Amazing Grace Charters would like the opportunity to show you just how memorable fishing in the Great Lakes can be!
Captain Larry has a USCG Master License, so rest assured you will be in good hands whether close to shore or 15 miles out. The 27' Sportcraft boat you will be on has everything to make your trip fun and comfortable. The vessel is powered by a 330 HP that will get you on the fish quickly and safely.
Capt. Larry has been able to adapt to all types of weather and put fish into your icebox in all conditions that Mother Nature throws at him. Everything from fish sonar, GPS, and onboard Fish Hawk system is there to help you hook the best catch available.
Early season in this area starts mid-April, weather permitting, and that's the best time to go after Lake Trout. Make sure to dress warmly for these trips, it gets very chilly very quickly. You can fish for them until mid-May when the Walleye bite starts to get into full swing.
Perch fishing runs simultaneously with the Walleye bite and is available until mid-October if the weather allows. The Steelhead season can start as early as mid-August in deep waters, then move into the shallows by late September.
Captain Larry always gives his best to schedule the trips according to what is the hottest bite at the time. When it comes to your fishing gear, you will be using Okuma rods and reels — all you need to bring is a cooler with drinks and food along with sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats to keep you safe from the sun.
Depending on where the fish are and where the bite is best, the trips can start either from Walnut Creek, Lampe, or North East marinas. Of course, your captain will give you all the details as soon as you book a trip.

They are like a finely oiled machine, I’m not just blowing smoke, these two guys work together well and gave us the best overall experience and fishing trip we have had yet. We all limited out with an amazing catch for the day in under 2 hours and only minutes it seemed from the shoreline. We will be back and I myself personally recommend Amazing Grace Charters! Larry and his first mate Casey had us on the fish in short order. Good people and just great guys to spend an evening catching fish and watching them prepare the equipment. Captain Larry and Casey were entertaining and thoughtful, telling great stories and teaching us about what they were doing as they were setting up. Lake Erie was beautiful the day we went out and they knew exactly where to go to find the fish. We're already considering taking another trip out during steelhead season. Nothing beats having an experienced captain. Larry took great care of us first timers fishing at Lake Erie. He anticipated our needs making it a memorable and enjoyable experience, which was so much appreciated - thanks again Captain Larry! We couldn't keep up with catching walleyes one after another. My husband also caught a good size steelhead despite dealing with seasickness - he made it through and actually had a lot of fun as he admitted afterwards. We highly recommend chartering with Captain Larry on the Amazing Grace.

Believe it or not, my wife got me to do this because she enjoys fishing so much. Not many guys have this problem. Also, it is by the grace of the good Lord Jesus Christ that I have been given the tools to do this. This is why my boat's name is Amazing Grace. It's because of his grace that I am able to do what I love. I have 2 adult children that are on their own so this gave me and my wife the time to fish and enjoy each other's company.
