Brandy is one of Destin's few lady captains. She works with a crew of professional anglers who share the same values and work hard to put their clients on top of the hottest bite.
Join them in the 'World's Luckiest Fishing Village' aboard the '5th Day.'
She is a 40' Guidry saltwater fishing boat that can carry up to 6 anglers. The 5th Day comes powered by twin 4-53N Detroit Diesel engines and was fully overhauled in 2010. She is outfitted with modern navigational and fishfinding electronics to build up a clear image of where the fish are hiding. The 5th Day features a restroom and a sleeping area, along with an air-conditioned cabin and professional accessories.
The crew of Emerald Coast Charters embraces every sea-dwelling species to make sure you and your family have a 'full Destin experience.' The captain will show you her tricks of the trade to land anything that is in season and biting, including Amberjack, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, Red Snapper, Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Wahoo, Bonito, and Shark to name a few.
Light tackle fishing for several species including Striped Bass, Bluefish, Black Sea Bass, Fluke, Summer Flounder, False Albacore, Bonito, and Tuna. If your attraction is fly fishing and you wish to bring your own equipment we can put you in a position to be successful on the long rod.
Your trip will include the use of light tackle for trolling and Penn gear for bottom fishing. When you are done catching, all keeper fish will be cleaned free of charge. You will also be able to catch your own bait as part of the trip.

For a young guy he did an excellent job. You do not see a lot of young men that puts as much into what they are doing as he did. I kept telling him, I can bait my own hook. Keep the others baited. He still tried helping. I watched him tying knots on the line, cleaning fish and he did awesome. Someone did a great job training him and you can tell he loves what he is doing.

Captain Brandy navigated around a thunderstorm that rolled in, we barely had a spinkle of rain on us. Matt kept all the bait and tackle in check the entire trip. They both were wonderful with our three boys. We ended up with 37 fish that we were able to keep, but we caught much more.

We had a cooler, windy day but still had a great haul. The trolling was a fun introductory to sea fishing with kids (12,12,15). Be sure to dress is layers if its earlier in the spring. May also consider Dramamine if heading out on the Gulf of America. It’s alot choppier than the Bay. Overall, just ask if you don’t know and they will kindly answer.

6 Hour Trip – Family Fun on March 10, 2026 • 4 adults • 1 childWhat an incredible day of fishing. Week took our boys out for a half day (6hr) charter leaving around 12:30pm. Fog was just burning off seas were calm, it was about an hour and half out we were hitting fiah all day. Captain AJ was quick to pivot and move on if the fish weren’t hitting. Carter was an incredible first mate help our boys out and kept us loaded with bait. Caught a varity of species cleaned and bagged and brought home. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Brandy is super knowledgeable about the industry and answered questions throughout the trip. Connor did a fantastic job with keeping the lines ready to go and helping us reel in the fish. Would highly recommend Brandy if you're a family wanting to learn fishing or more experienced anglers. She knows her stuff.

We had Captain Jimmy and 1st mate Nick. Nick did a great job with all the tacke and keeping bait on our hooks. Captain Jimmy kept finding fish for us to catch. We caught a bunch of fish but only about 10 keepers. while out on the water we were thinking maybe it just wasn’t our day. However, when we returned to dock we noticed others had hardly caught anything at all. So, even on a day that the finish “weren’t biting” Jimmy still found us fish to catch! We had a great time and we will definitely book with Emerald Coast Charters again.
