You will spend your trip on a huge 48' Uniflite boat. There is so much space on this boat that whether you choose the shorter trip or the overnight trip you'll be completely comfortable. She has twin 500 HP Cummins engines – coupled with Capt. TJ's great knowledge of the area, you will have your lines in the water in no time.
State of the art GPS and Navigational equipment will get you to the fish pronto. They even have Radar for night vision. She boasts a complete galley, where food preparation can be done. There is plenty of space both inside and outside. Anytime you need a rest, you can just pop inside to relax in front of the TV or even have a nap on the longer trips.
These trips offer great flexibility for people of all skill levels. You can fish for a few hours or up to 12 hours on the overnight trips. If you want to snorkel, then that is perfectly fine too on selected trips. Masks are always on board. Capt. TJ wants to make sure you have the most amazing time by customizing your trip to your needs – let him know before the trip what you would most like to do, and he will try to accommodate you.
You will target a range of species on various trips, including White Sea Bass, Calico Bass, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Barracuda, Yellowtail and more.
Our expert fillet service and packaging is freezer ready once you're home. Our deckhands have experience in So Cal waters.
We will provide the basic required gear and frozen bait you will be using. LIVE BAIT ON ALL HALFDAY TRIPS IS AN EXTRA COST TO CUSTOMER. You just need to grab your sunscreen and fishing license.

I booked this trip for my kids (6 year old and 3 year old boys), since my 6-year-old has become OBSESSED with fishing. From start to finish, the morning couldn't have been more perfect. Captain TJ and Body were both informative, patient, and kind, making sure we all had the best day ever. We all caught fish and learned different fishing techniques. As soon as we docked at the end of our adventure, my 6-year-old asked how many days until we go back on the boat. And when we returned home he said, "Mommy, I literally had a BLAST today!". We cannot wait to do it again!
The Captain, TJ, and deck hand Bodie were awesome. They were knowledgeable, helpful and patient as we had 3 kids with us. We showed up a little early and they were ready to go, so much so that we were able to leave a bit earlier and take advantage of the extra time to catch a few more fish. The boat was clean and spacious with enough seats for many in our party to take a nap on our way to Catalina. I would highly recommend booking a charter with Captain TJ on the Kamryn Dawson and plan to do so again in the future.
Captain TJ knew all the places to go to around Catalina Island. Some were better than others, but caught a mix of sheepshead, bass, barracuda and whitefish. Very accommodating even when one of the people got seasick. Bodie was an excellent first mate, never wavering even when we caught some unexpected animals. Great trip and would definitely be back again.

I have been on a lot of charters and this was the best yet. Captain TJ knows where the fish are. We started catching fish from the first cast and didn’t stop. We had dozens of fish in the boat let alone the ones we released. On top of that TJ and his first mate are a pleasure to spend time with. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.
