Capt. Jeremy will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing, which involves 4 to 12-hour trips. Coastal trips target Bass, Barracuda, Yellowtail, Halibut, White Seabass, and Rockfish depending on the season and what fish is around. Island trips have a better shot at Yellowtail, Tuna, and White Seabass, with Calico Bass and Rockfish being abundant. On your trip, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, big game fishing, drift fishing, jigging, kite fishing, and popping.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 33' Calvin Beal down eastern that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat comes with a toilet, lots of indoor seating, place to lay down , live bait and an ice-box. You'll travel fast which will give you a lot of fishing time.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. We can get you a fishing license the morning of the trip. The crew keeps all the catch on ice and offers fish cleaning and packaging at the end of the day. All departure times can be adjusted.

Deep sea fishing has been something my husband and I have wanted to do for years and couldn’t be happier we did this experience! Our kids (12 & 7) enjoyed it as well, they both caught plenty of fish. The guys were very knowledgeable and patient with the kids, filleted the fish right in front of us too! Would recommend 100/10 for all!

12 Hour Trip – Island on June 25, 2024 • 2 adults • 1 childThe Spitfire Captain and his Son are highly experienced in the southern Cali area. I highly recommend going with this crew. I took my son on the trip and we had a blast. We caught our limit of Calico bass. We also caught Bonita, barracuda, sheep head, and yellowtail amberjack from what I remember. We chose the 12 hour trip so that we had enough time to have opportunity to catch fish like the yellowtail. The crew brings out an enormous amount of live bait and teaches you how to fish Catalina Island using their method. Learning to fish their method resulted in limiting out on the calico bass and then my 12 year old son hooked a large ~35 lb yellowtail. After learning their method and gaining the experience of catching the calico and barracuda, he was able to reel in the big yellowtail successfully. I was able to stay back and film his catch because he had learned so much on the trip. I highly recommend fishing on the Spitfire. This father son team is very experienced and easy to learn from. They also took us out on their other bigger boat for free afterwards where we caught rockfish and sculpin. Without a doubt the Spitfire is an awesome experience and daily adventure.

Morning 4 Hour Trip on July 11, 2025 • 6 adultsOur trip on the Free Spirit witn Spifire Sportfidhing was perfect. The Father/Son team of Jeremy (Captain) and Jackson (First Mate) could not have been more accommodating. They explained our options, safety procedures, and fishing techniques thoroughly. The put us on fish soon after leaving the dock and kept us catch throughout the charter and quickly cleaned and fileted our catch. I highly recommend them.

Captain Jackson and Bob were attentive, friendly, and accommodated our every need. I had two young sons and they made sure that my son’s experiences were met. Both jack and Fabian were very helpful finding the fish and knowledgeable about the bite. Highly recommend for all skill levels, there is something for everyone!! Thank you again!!

Booked this for my son’s 16th birthday. They had a great time. Captain Jeremy was very responsive and helpful leading up to the day of the booking. The kids caught a ton of fish and the crew fillet them to take home.

The captain started as a deckhand and worked his way to be a captain that ran other people's sport fishing boats. Eventually, he moved on to buying his own sport fishing boat.
