You will spend the day aboard his 36' Cougar catamaran. You and 5 fishing friends will have plenty of space to fish simultaneously on this trip. The boat is equipped with all the necessary electronics to help you track the fish.
You can expect to see a range of species on these trips, including Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Tilefish, and more. These will mostly be caught by trolling and bottom fishing. These trips are great for the whole family.
Even kids as young as 5 can come on these trips. Start their love of fishing from an early age. Due to the nature of the sea, Capt. Mike would recommend to bring them on the inshore trip. If the parent is happy though, Capt. Mike and his crew are happy.
Live bait is prepared before the trip, so you can spend maximum time with your lines in the water. You are welcome to bring along food and drink, which can be kept in the coolers on board. Then, after the trip, transfer your haul into your personal cooler in the car.
Please note, it is customary to tip the crew 20% after the trip. They are with you every step of the trip and will show you the tricks of the trade so you can catch your dream fish. Uptick Charters can't wait to welcome you on the water and start making some awesome memories together.

Great OBX Charter
Full Day Trip – Offshore on July 20, 2020 • 6 adultsA group of us took out this charter hoping to catch some Wahoo (Yellowfin mostly moved north and the weed lines for Mahi have been breaking up). Plus, we had never caught Wahoo before. A couple of charters cancelled on us over the week and these guys came through. The conditions were rough, definitely 8-10 footers on the way out to the Gulf Stream and 6-8 footers while trolling the ledge. But, the 36’ Cat handled very well, and both Captain Mike and First Mate Pete were awesome. Experienced, friendly, fun, and accommodating. We had a friendly competition with our deep diver vs. their ballyhoo. We caught that elusive Wahoo, which was amazing (even if it was with the ballyhoo). Pete worked hard and had everything running seamlessly. We have experience and he let us put in some work (many of the boats tend to prefer that the tourists step aside). We came to the Outer Banks to fish, anyone else doing the same should look these guys up and book!

Captain Mike and Dustin were friendly, efficient, and knowledgable. We have been on offshore fishing charters everywhere and the service went above and beyond. Captain Mike put us on fish and Dustin kept us fishing. We highly recommend Uptick Charters.
Captain Mike really tried his hardest to get us all the fish we wanted. He didnt give up brought us to different spots. His First Mate was very knowledgeable and respectful. I would 100% recommend booking with him.
We had a great time with Captain Mike and first Mate Dallas! We took our two kids aged 6 and 9 and they were perfect ages for the inshore trip. Our little guy got a bit sea sick and Dallas took great care of him getting a bucket of cool water for his feet and having him lay back. We caught several fish and were provided the info for a marina close by to get them cleaned. We will definitely be rebooking next year!
I Took my 14-year-old boy on his first ocean fishing charter. Captain Mike and Dallas (deck-mate) are friendly and fun. They made the trip a perfect first experience for my son. They promised us sharks and they delivered.
