Brian is a local and has been fishing in the area for 20 years, so he's an expert in getting you on the fish quickly. Catch a giant Catfish and set your new personal record, or go after one of the most popular targets in sportfishing – Largemouth Bass.
On both half day and full day trips, you will get the chance to come face-to-gills with White Perch. They are quite delicious and always fun to catch, especially on light tackle.
All these fishing adventures will be happening on a brand new 24' Carolina Skiff that is prepped and ready for some serious angling. With a 2017 Mercury four stroke engine that has 115 HP, she is perfectly suited to carry 4 anglers through the waters of the Carova Beach area.
Capt. Brian always puts his anglers first, which means all the fishing gear you might need is provided. This includes all rods and reels, live bait, coolers, and fishing licenses. All you should bring are some snacks and water.
Split Shot Sound Charters is family-oriented and kid-friendly. There's nothing Brian loves more than seeing families having a wonderful time fishing aboard his boat. Teaching youngsters how to catch their first fish is always a uniquely beautiful experience.

Brian was awesome and took us straight to the fish, we were catching fish within 15 min of being on the boat and when it slowed he moved us quickly! Boys (15,14,9) had an absolute blast. Perch for days and plenty of catfish that were fun for the boys to reel in, thank you Brian for a wonderful trip this morning and putting up with lil man!
From start to finish, Brian was personable and quite knowledgeable about the area and fishing. We caught 40+ fish - catfish, perch. We had a great time and would go with Brian again!
My two 11 year old boys and I had a great experience with Capt Brian. We caught many Perch and two large 20+ lb Catfish. The boys were estatic on the haul. Brian is very knowledgable on where the fish are biting and great with teaching the boys how to reel and cast properly. Highly recommend this trip!
Captain Brian was fantastic! My son and I had a great time and I will be booking charters with him every time I visit the OBX.
The trip was great! Brian was great with my 7yo and wife who had never been on a fishing trip. We caught perch pretty much all day and got a large Chanel catfish. We caught probably 30 fish in total. Awesome day and great first time experience for my wife and son.
