You can't go wrong with Whitecap Charters. The captain will not only guide you through the basics before you make your first cast – he will make sure your rods are busy throughout the adventure.

The captain opens the season in May and takes his clients out until late October. The spring and summer months are all about light tackle fishing, while heavy tackle is the main technique for September and October.

You will be equipped with top-notch gear by Shimano, Okuma, and Ugly Stik to catch anything from Chinook and Coho Salmon to Lake Trout, Brown Trout, Perch, and Steelhead.

The 'Trouble Maker" will be your boat for the day. It is a 29' A
Trophy Pro cuddy cabin that comes powered by twin 225 HP engines. Trouble Maker has enough space for up to 6 anglers to fish in comfort and style. She is a trailerable boat, which allows the captain to fish from several ports, such as Manistee, Traverse City, Bay Harbor, Charlevoix, Torch Lake and Frankfort.

The New TROUBLE MAKER Boat has everything you need to make a great catch possible. All gear and tackle will be provided for the trip, along with bait and a complimentary fish-cleaning service at the end of the trip.

Whitecap Charters also offers catering service – if you are too busy, the captain will gladly pick up lunch and drinks for you for an *Extra Fee*

What an amazing trip

At 70 years old we caught so many fish over 12 pounds I let my son pull the last 4 into the boat Captain Art was great.
 
He shared how he can put out up to 8 or 9 lines at one time without the getting tangled up during the trip. He cleaned the fish and let us know the local famous John Cross fishery here in Charlevoix could smoke them- we took three, two to be smoked by the John Cross company. We cooked the smallest lake trout tonight based his on his suggested method on the grill at our rental house and it was the best. We will take the smoked lake trout to Texas with us. The captain said the 20 lbs. of smoke fish cut into pieces will be great for up to a year. It was a lot of fun, and I plan to do it every year going forward.

But I really loved that Captain Art was taking the remaining 20 or more pounds of the clean Lake Trout to the women's shelter here in Charlevoix, he they love it when he brings it to them. That made it pretty much a perfect day.

Although the day of our trip, we had a little misunderstanding, Captain Kent called and spoke to me about our experience.  I felt like he really truly cared. I am fully  satisfied after our conversation and would book with Whitecap Charters again.  It’s hard to find people who care, so if you are looking to book with someone who does, there’s no need to look any further.  Thank you Captain Kent.

Like we talked about what you thought was an overcharge, being the 3.5% service fee that is charged.
