We arrived at the beach a bit early and the captain yelled out to us with our reservation name. We responded and were taken aboard and we got underway early. We were given options of fishing techniques and chose to troll to a known area of good drop fishing. No hits on the way there, but immediately started pulling in Trigger Fish with a few tips from the captain. Six of us were catching them one after another. Probably 30 caught altogether! We chose the half day trip, so only had about an hour and a half in the area. We trolled back to Playa and enjoyed some tequila provided by the captain along with a couple of beers each. We kept three fish that the crew filleted and took them to a restaurant recommended by the captain and had a wonderful lunch of the fish we had just caught! I will choose La Reina every time we visit for a great day of fishing!

Huge thanks to Host Aurelio, Capitan Gustavo and La Reina for the fantastic experience and great memories. Within 15 minutes of leaving the shore, we were catching triggerfish off the bottom. They put us right on top of structure so we constantly getting bites and reeling them in… probably caught 20 fish in two hours. Nothing against the other boats or captains, but we seemed to be the only ones with that kind of action.

They told us that they weren’t having a lot of luck trolling but we thought we’d give it a shot anyway. Over the next two hours, we caught barracuda, bonito (my wife hooked two on one line!) and the catch of the day, a nice sized red snapper that was so much fun to bring in!

Boat was clean, rods and tackle were good quality, ice cold beers and soft drinks were plentiful, and the crew was super friendly, We were probably a little lucky that day, but I can definitely say that these guys worked hard to put us on the fish. Highly recommend!

Tip: if you get motion sickness, you might ask your doctor to prescribe those little behind the ear patches. They might also be available at the Mexican pharmacies on every street corner. They worked wonders for us.

We did a 6 hour trip and chose to troll all day. We caught a variety of fish, the highlight of the trip was when both my husband and I hooked up on 2 Sailfish at the same time.

Boat was very clean and comfortable. Crew was polite and very engaging. Never a dull moment or awkward silence. Caught about 10 mahi-mahi and one sailfish in
4 hours. Definitely would book these guys again!

The weather on the day was not perfect, windy and 3 ft swells, but we were not going to cancel as it was the only day we could make it.  Picked up 1 Dorish/Mah Mahi trolling, and spent 1.5-2 hrs catching small reef fish just to let everyone catch a fish.  The crew did their best, no water time, constantly adjusting lures/bait/getting seaweed of the lines when trolling.  Lastly they were very accommodating. Asked for some specific drinks etc… and they delivered.
