Lucky Buck Fishing Charters – Skaneateles
New York's Finger Lakes region is known for being home to some stunning scenery, as well as plenty of history, museums, and national parks. Thanks to the 11 long, finger lakes that gave the area its name, it's also a hotbed of top angling action! Captain Robert 'Buck' Carter is a local, lifelong fisherman who can't wait to take you exploring some of Skaneateles' most productive fishing grounds on board Lucky Buck Fishing Charters.
Capt. Buck has plenty of charter experience under his belt – at the age of 21, he was running his own fleet of charter boats in the Florida Keys. His love of first-class freshwater fishing led him to return to New York, where he now provides his guests with incredible angling adventures on two of the most bountiful Finger Lakes – Skaneateles Lake and Otisco Lake. He specializes in reeling in world-famous freshwater fish – Walleye, Perch, and Trout, to name a few!
You'll be navigating the lakes on board your captain's 25' Carolina Skiff, perfectly built to tackle these long, narrow waters. She can accommodate up to 4 guests, including children aged 10 and above – bring along the family, or some fellow freshwater fanatics! She's equipped with top-notch navigational gear, including GPS and fishfinder, life jackets for all ages, a cooler to store your catch in, and a wireless trolling motor so you can cruise to the hotspots without spooking your fish.
Skaneateles Lake is known for its cleanliness, and for offering up some awesome freshwater fishing – get ready to reel in plenty of Walleye, Lake Trout, Tiger Musky, Bass, and more. Your captain will have you trying out a variety of techniques, including bottom fishing, trolling, and live bait fishing. When it comes to Trout, he'll teach you his own 'dropping' method to hook them. You'll be able to go after these species on Otisco Lake, too.
Your trip includes top-notch rods, reels, bait, and tackle. Come aboard Lucky Buck Fishing Charters for a first-class freshwater fishing adventure!

Captain Buck was great; he called me up after booking to verify everything and figure out what we wanted to fish for. Day of the trip everything went smooth, we showed up, hopped on the boat and were on the water within 5 minutes. I had my 7 year old son along and Capt Buck hooked him right up with a rig that he was catching fish right off the start. Rest of the trip was a blast watching my son and father catch fish; Capt Buck moved around to keep us on the fish. Boat was a perfect setup; highly recommend!

Hey Scott great job you guys were fun to fish with hope to see you again be safe captain Buck standing by

Lucky Buck gave my wife and I a very successful, entertaining, and enjoyable day of fall fishing! Buck was very flexible and generous with his time and expertise. Our trip was in late October and the early morning temperature was expected to be below or very near freezing, so we asked Buck if we could start later than the listed 6:00 AM to allow things to warm up a bit. Buck was very flexible about the start time and agreed to let us start at 9:00 AM. When we arrived at the boat launch Buck was ready and waiting and had already been out scouting the lake. Buck had lots of nice rods and reels already rigged and ready to go, and also had plenty of live bait (minnows) and other baits/lures. He also had the boat rigged with pan-optics and used it effectively to find and put us on fish! I had 3 goals for the trip: (1) catch a personal best (PB) smallmouth (4 lbs or more), (2) catch my first lake trout, and (3) make sure my wife caught some fish and had an enjoyable day. Buck made sure we achieved all three goals! He worked hard and kept moving to put us on fish, and gave us excellent, detailed instructions about how to present the baits. As a result, both my wife and I caught our PB smallmouth bass - see photo's - and we both caught our first lake trout! We really enjoyed Buck's stories about the local area, his life, and his experiences of a lifetime of fishing in New York and Florida. Good laughs and never a dull moment. I highly recommend a charter with Lucky Buck for a successful and enjoyable fishing experience!

Lucky Buck is everything in one: an outstanding angler, a great person, a captivating storyteller of fishing stories, and a meticulous guide. His unique combination of skills makes his fishing tours an unparalleled experience that you will want to repeat again and again.

Thanks Juan you guys were great fishermen I put you on them and you caught them (team effort) take care be safe thanks captain buck
Skaneateles, New York, United States
At the age of 21, I began fishing the Florida Keys with my own commercial boats, ranging from a 16' vessel to a 43' diesel-powered fishing machine. I've encountered a huge variety of species, including Goliath Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Black Grouper, Yellowtail Snapper, and plenty more. I then moved back to New York State to become a charter fisherman. I really enjoy taking people out on the water and teaching them my skills, while also learning some of their tricks along the way! We troll and target Trout in up to 180 feet of water, as well as other freshwater favorites such as Smallmouth Bass, Perch, and Walleye.
