Tamarindo Fishing Trips has a crew of locals who have been fishing for years and know these waters like the back of their hands. Operating out of Tamarindo, Costa Rica, they can't wait to show you their favorite hotspots and put you on the fish!
Spend the day aboard their 27' custom-built center console panga than can cater to up to 4 anglers, 2 of them fishing at the same time. It comes powered by a 115 HP Yamaha 2007 engine, and features top-of-the-line navigational electronics and safety gear, as well as a cooler for your catch.
Captain Gato will take you exploring the most productive offshore waters, reefs, and flats. You'll do a lot of trolling, but bottom fishing and jigging are also on the menu. You'll start fishing about 1 mile from shore – the crew plays it by ear and goes where the fish are. Depending on the bite, you could be catching Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Spanish Mackerel, Snapper, and more.
The charter includes the use of top-notch fishing gear, mostly by Penn. Lures, snacks, and drinks are also included in the price. The captain will even clean and fillet your catch after the trip is done, free of charge. You should bring sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, and fishing licenses (which can be easily purchased online before the trip).
Tamarindo Fishing Trips will take care of everything else and make sure you go home with lifelong memories!

We had the absolute BEST DAY EVER catching yellowfin tuna, rainbow runner, dory, black tuna for bait, and trigger fish! Kener was the best captain, we didn't have much experience and he was very knowledgeable and kind and taught us everything we needed to know to catch a boat load of fish. Kener brought us loads of snacks, beer, and the fixings to prepare two rounds of fresh tuna tartare ON THE BOAT!!!!!! Best meal ever. He also showed us where to have our fish prepared right on the beach with a fire show after. Could not have imagined a better first fishing trip (and to think we only did the half day)! Highly recommend going with Kener, we will definitely come back for round two.

this was oir second trip with Tamarindo Fishing. Kenal and Pablo worked well together as a good team. We wanted to catch fish to eat so Kenal suggested starting with bottom fishing for snapper and grouper. We had fish in the boat within 5 minutes of reaching the first spot. We moved to three other spots and caught fish at each. Once we had enough for multiple meals we switched to trolling for big sport fish. While we didnt catch anything trolling but we saw dolphins and sea turtles. The beer and water was cold. The pineapple was sweet. It was a trip we would repeat.

thanks for your review, hope to see you soon in the water pura vida

Booked with Naomi L through fishing Booker. The transaction went smoothly. There was great communication by Captain Elmer. The next day we were set to leave at 7 AM. The conditions were incredible. Lots of fish activity in the area. We caught a few tunas, saw some action with cabrillas, smaller groupers, and the cherry on the cake was an amazing 100 pounder sailfish. What a thrill of a lifetime. The crew in the boat were very friendly, spoke English fluently. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Very professional. I would do this again and highly recommend it.

thanks see you next time in the water amigo

4 hours of nonstop, catching fish. Between 3 people, we easily caught 25+ fish. 5/5 STARS BEST Tamarindo fishing charter experience thus far. Will absolutely book again and highly recommend to anyone. Capt Elmer is the man. My friends and I had a blast with him and his deckhand

thanks Ericc see you next time
solid trip, it was super windy and not ideal conditions but we still tried trolling for big fish. no big fish but still the captain made sure we got to catch some red snapper to eat!

Tamarindo Fishing Trips are owned by Elmer Zelaya. They've been running trips with this boat for 3 years now. They're a serious business and try hard to get fish for the clients. The boat is run by Captain Gato, a local who has been fishing for over 10 years. He's participated in a lot of tournaments and loves to teach beginners how to fish.
