Top targets include Snappers, Cero Mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Corvina, Mahi Mahi, and more, depending on when you go. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your vessel for the day is a 26’ Yamaha center console with space for 7 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect. Don’t forget to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be water and beer aboard. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Snorkel Tour -3-4 beaches
Yellowfin Tuna Paradise
My girlfriend and I had a great time going out on the water with Captain Henry. We originally wanted to do fishing + snorkeling, but the weather didn't cooperate (heavy storms overnight = murky water), so we just stuck to fishing. We hooked up pretty quickly - Captain Henry knew exactly where to go to catch some nice tuna. We caught a total of 13 fish over 4 hrs, including 9 yellowfin tuna, 3 skipjack tuna, and 1 rainbow runner. My arms got tired after reeling in fish after fish. We also saw some cool wildlife including sea turtles, dolphins, and sea snakes. Overall was a great experience, Captain Henry is a funny guy with a good attitude. Would highly recommend!

Half Day Fishing Excursion
Great morning on the water
Booked a last minute 4 hour trip with Henry. He got us on the fish quickly. When the trolling bite showed down we switched to bottom fishing and caught a couple of nice snapper. Ended the day with a nice yellowfin tuna, which is the fish I most wanted to catch. Also saw mating sea turtles, sea snakes, and dolphins. Henry is very serious about fishing, so make sure that you are very honest with him about your experience and familiarity with the gear. Pura vida!

Henry was a wonderful captain who gives you more than "your bang for your buck". We got to go snorkeling, fishing, see sea turtles, and whales; all for under 300 bucks. Fantastic opportunity for anyone who doesn't need every bell and whistle on their fishing yacht. 100% go on a trip with captain Henry, you won't regret it!

Half Day Fishing Excursion
Tamarindo Half Day Fishing Excursion
We did a half day trip with Captain Henry and had a fun time. It was my wife and I, and our two kids (ages 14 and 12). We have not done much fishing but Captain Henry took care of everything and he was very good with the kids. The first half was busy - we caught several tuna (skipjack and yellow fin). The second half was a bit slower, but he tried lots of spots and we managed to catch a nice grouper. We also saw green sea turtles and humpback whales. We enjoyed the trip enough that we went out with Captain Henry again in the afternoon for a nice tour of Tamarindo Estuary. He is very knowledgeable about the area. We saw lots of wildlife including several crocodiles and a group of howler monkeys.
