Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks – luckily, Capt. Eymhus will have some on board!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 23’ Mako center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don’t forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.

The captain and crew were fantastic, they went out of the way to make sure my son had a fantastic time and that we got his fish! We got a Yellow tuna that I thought was huge. The captain said it was small, but my son was ready to be done for the day or we would have kept fishing! I highly recommend this crew! It’s was a little changing connecting with the captain in the morning as the app was not working very well. But all of the local crews knew each other and one of the other crews called the captain from us we left on time got back early with dinner in hand and pictures and good memories! If you are looking for a fantastic bonding opportunity with your son or daughter I definitely recommend this crew. Its also clear that if your a serious fisherman this crew with be prepared for you! Thanks for the great time!

I caught a 9 foot sailfish with Captain Amos!
Half Day Trip (AM) on July 4, 2024
What better way to top off my 25th wedding anniversary with my beautiful wife than to catch a 9 foot sailfish with Captain “Famous” Amos! We started off the day on time they picked us up exactly where they said they would be and took us out on a little dinghy to their boat, which was anchored just offshore. The boat was well equipped with ice, cold beer, water, and sodas. We headed out about 35 km. The ride was smooth and the weather was beautiful, and the view of Tamarindo from the boat cannot be beat! Captain Amos and the crew had six poles trolling in the water before I knew it. The first fish we hooked was a beautiful looking yellowfin tuna. First mate Henry filleted it for us right there on the boat and he also had some soy sauce ready. We ate a bit raw and it was excellent! We left with a big bag of tuna that Captain Amos told us where to go and have it cooked up on shore for us how we wanted, My wife and I actually got two meals Each out of it. But of course, the highlight of the day was catching a 106” sailfish! We weren’t having any luck for a couple of hours and so we started to head back in for shallower waters so we could do some bottom fishing and trolling further in. Just as we started back in-BAM!!! We hooked a Sailfish and saw it jump in the distance, high out of the water, fully expanded fin, just a beautiful site! Captain Amos handed me the rod and I began reeling it in, rod up, reel it down up, rod up, reel it down…. This went on for what felt like an hour, but it was probably about 15 minutes. Once I reeled it in close enough to the boat, the crew Guided the fish up to the side of the boat so we could measure it and get some great pictures. (Sailfish are protected in Costa Rica, So it is catch and release ). Once the hook was released, they freed the sailfish, and we watched it dive under. With the pictures and the measurement, I will have a great mount made of my trophy Sailfish! I highly recommend this crew and will say this was definitely my favorite experience of my Costa Rican vacation!

Best fishing in Tamarindo!

You will have a great time out on the water with these guys. We had Eymhus and Henry, they were knowledgeable, allowed us to add extra time and took us to a great restaurant on the beach to eat our catch. We caught yellowfin tuna, mahi, and skipjack. We were looking for Marlin and saw one but no bites. I’m sure they’ll get the Marlin when they take you out. Eymhus even took me from my hotel to the airport at 6 am. He’s a great and generous tican. Pura vida!
