If you’re looking for a premier Maldivian fishing experience, you’re in the right place! Operating out of Malé, Island Wave combines traditional fishing with a modern approach to chartering, and they can’t wait to put you on the fish of your dreams.
Their vessel is a 24’ Yanmar fish and ski boat powered by a 115 HP Yanmar engine. It can take up to 6 guests taking turns while fishing. The boat comes with a live bait tank to keep your bait fresh and appetizing, a cooler, a toilet, and top-notch marine electronics and safety gear.
Your local captain will take you fishing for some of the most attractive local species, including Giant Trevally, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Amberjack, Grouper, and Snapper. You can explore the reefs and wrecks, fish the inshore waters or set sail farther offshore (it will usually take you around an hour to reach the best deep sea spots). You’ll be using a variety of techniques, including trolling, spinning, jigging, and popping.
Island Wave will cover the use of top-tier fishing gear by brands such as Penn and Shimano, as well as lures. Snacks, drinks, and live bait can be provided upon request for an extra charge. Kids 5 years and older are more than welcome to join in the fun, just make sure to bring appropriate life jackets for them.
Book a trip with Island Wave and get ready to create some unforgettable memories!
