Want to catch Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, or Barracuda in Durban, South Africa? Then book the ultimate fishing experience with Captain Paul Nel of VCAS, who will take you on a trip of a lifetime. He loves meeting people from all over the world and showing them the best that the area has to offer.

Spend the day aboard his 30’ Stormcraft walkaround boat that can accommodate up to 7 anglers. Fully overhauled in 2019, it features the latest and the best in marine electronics and safety gear, twin 140 HP Johnson engines, outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, a livewell, and an ice-box. It also has a restroom, a kitchen, and a sleeping area for maximum comfort on longer trips.

In addition to Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and Barracuda, you could also be reeling in Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, and Musselcracker. The captain will take you up to 15 miles offshore, which is more than enough to land these big game trophies.

All the needed gear is supplied by the charter, as well as lures and fishing licenses. Snacks and drinks such as fruit, chips, water, coffee, tea, and more are included on all trips, but if you contact the captain beforehand, he can adjust the menu according to your preferences. Lunch is provided on full day and multiday trips – the catch of the day is either cooked in the onboard kitchen or barbecued on the boat, depending on the weather conditions. There is also an option to have brunch before these longer trips.

If you’d like to bring your own drinks and snacks, you can store them in the onboard coolers or the fridge. Please note that hard liquor is not allowed, but a couple of beers are okay.

The first mate will gladly clean your catch after the trip is done, so tips for his efforts are more than welcome (catch cleaning is done on the boat on multiday trips).
