Having fished since the age of 5, Captain Shaun Uyeda knows exactly what makes a successful fishing trip. He’s a true believer in living life to the full, and can’t wait to give you a thrilling time aboard and out on the ocean.
Head out aboard his 34' Defiance Guadalupe offshore sportfishing boat. From Simrad electronics to Seeker rods and Daiwa reels, she’s rigged with the best. Powered by twin 300 HP Yamaha Outboard, you’ll whizz out to the fishing grounds, leaving all your cares behind. Up to 6 guests are welcome aboard, taking advantage of the creature comforts such as a Cabin, bunk, stereo, and private toilet. All ages are welcome. Great for kids of all ages.
Inshore trips will take place along San Diego’s pristine coastline. From Point Loma, across Mission Bay, and up to La Jolla, you’ll explore some stunning shallow waters. Get your fish on as you bottom fish for the bite of Bass, Halibut, Yellowtail, Sheephead, Lingcod, Rockfish, and many more delicious and exciting fish to take home.
Heading offshore, you’ll be targeting some serious big game fish. Troll the open waters and even try your hand at kite fishing as you get ready to do battle with these monster fish. Try to fill the boat with Yellowfin, Bluefin, Skipjack Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and Yellowtail. These strong creatures will not only give you the fight of your life, but they’ll also prove to be worthy table fare!
Live bait is included and the captain will even clean and fillet your catch at the end of the day. Just bring some food and drinks (no glass bottles), appropriate clothing, and sun protection and let Pelican Sportfishing do the rest. Alcohol is allowed. The start time can be adjusted for the trip.

12 Hour Trip – Coronado Islands
Great captain, great boat
We had an incredible day on the water with Pelican Sportfishing and Captain Noah. Though the yellowtail weren’t biting, Noah quickly adapted and got us into an excellent lingcod and rockfish bite. His deep knowledge of the area and ability to read the conditions really made the difference. The boat was clean, well-equipped, and the whole trip ran smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend booking with Pelican if you’re looking for a fun, productive day out on the ocean.

Amazing Trip
Hands down one of the best experiences ever! Captain Sean was very knowledgeable and even though most of party got sea sick as it was all of our first time out at sea, he made it worth everything. We caught a bunch of fish and even got to see dolphins right next to the boat. Definitely recommend!

Great Successful February Fishing Trip for Rockfish and Whitefish
What an incredible fishing trip! From start to finish, our experience with this fishing charter was top-notch. Our guide/skipper, Noah, was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and truly passionate about making sure we had the best experience possible. He took us right to the perfect spots, and we had an amazing day on the water, reeling in **18 whitefish**, **8 rockfish**, and a mix of other species! The action was nonstop, and his expertise made all the difference. Not only did he know exactly where to go, but he also gave great tips that helped us maximize our catch. Amazing Experience!
My son and I had an outstanding time on our charter. Shaun was a great captain and knew right where to take us. He was very personable and patient with us as we learned about salt water fishing. Best of all, we caught a lot of fish and brought some back to eat. What a great day! I would highly recommend Pelican Sport Fishing to anyone looking for a great salt water fishing experience.

Great family trip!
My wide, son, and I went for a half day fishing trip with Noah and had a blast. Noah was a great captain and very helpful to all of us, he even filleted the 9 fish we kept. The boat was clean and in good shape. Every one of us caught fish, especially my 7 year old son. He had an absolutely awesome time. We had some trouble getting to go out on the day we were originally scheduled because of weather, but Shaun worked with us and got us out while we were visiting and I'm so glad it all worked out. Thanks for an awesome time!
