Agawam Boat & Fishing Charters specializes in custom-designed fishing trips along the scenic coastline of Massachusetts. Captain Ted Marshall has been putting smiles on customers' faces since 1995 and invites you and your family to join him in Essex on this exclusive adventure.
The captain's boat is a 25' Parker offshore sportfisher that accommodates up to 6 guests on inshore trips and 4 on offshore trips. She's powered by a 385 HP Mercruiser Stroker engine and is equipped with top-quality navigational instruments, outriggers, , and multiple live bait tanks.
The vessel's cabin has an outstanding sound system for your fun and relaxation. She also has a built-in restroom, shower, bed, and ample room to kick back. Enjoy the ride and take in the beautiful scenery of Cape Ann and Essex Bay!
Captain Ted runs trips from May through October. Depending on your wishes and the weather conditions, you'll either fish from the shallow waters of Essex and Ipswich Bays, Essex River, or the deep Atlantic. Let the captain know what you want out of your trip and he'll do his best to make it work.
On inshore trips, your main target species will be Striped Bass and Bluefish, while on nearshore and offshore trips you'll get to battle Atlantic Mackerel, Pollock, Blue Shark, and even Bluefin Tuna! Capt. Ted also offers lobster excursions, beach parties, and island tours that can be combined with your fishing trip. Another exciting option is Flounder gigging, enjoyable for first-timers and expert anglers alike!
You'll be provided with state-of-the-art rods and reels made by Penn and Shimano, as well as live bait and artificial lures. All permits and fishing licenses are covered by the captain's boat as well, so you don't have to worry about filling out any extra paperwork.

Ted was amazing! Even though there has been a lack of fish in the area, Ted showed us a great time! He is a wealth of knowledge about the history and wildlife in the area (and some pop culture). He answered every question we had and some we didn't think of! We saw seals, went to Rockport (best lobster rolls and homemade ice cream.. omg!) A great day for me and my family..would do it again!
despite the lack of fish activity, I’m glad we had so much fun with you and your family! I had a ton of fun with you guys as well. I hope we can do it again sometime in the future please come back to the northeast and visit again. 
Four hours on the water chasing striped bass was a true test of patience, but the explosive fights made every minute worth it. Landing two beautiful, hard-hitting stripers delivered an instant adrenaline rush that reminded me why I love this sport. Releasing both fish healthy back into the water was the perfect ending to a rewarding, textbook session

Captain Ted has fished the local waters for many years & actually conducted tours on some of the local islands years ago. We got a local history lesson along with great fishing. My daughter caught the biggest fish of her life - and a keeper! A trip that she'll remember forever.

We did not catch any lobster, but that didnt matter. We had an incredible morning exploring the waters. The kids loved pulling up the traps and learning about the marine life.

Captain Ted Marshall is the founder and owner of Agawam Boat & Fishing Charters. His love for the ocean began at a young age when he was only 8 years old. He became friends with a retired sea captain who taught him everything he knows about the environment and ecology of the ocean. During this time, he learned how to clam, lobster, and fish for many other species which led to a lifelong appreciation for all aquatic life. Capt. Ted eventually went on to receive a B.S. in Geology, Environmental, and Marine Sciences, and in 1992 he finally earned his master mariner's documents. Since then, Capt. Ted has worked on a number of boats, held the title of shipmaster for many operators, and began running Agawam Boat & Fishing Charters in 1995. Capt. Ted also trains owners in boat operations and performs yacht deliveries regularly. With his breadth of knowledge and kind spirit, Capt. Ted will show you a good time and put you on some incredible fish!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
