SPI Fish Killer Charters offers guided fishing trips around the waterways of South Padre Island, TX. Whether it's exploring the inshore waters for some Reds or Specks, or the chase further out to get Kings, Grouper, and Snapper, SPI Fish Killer Charters has you covered.

You will be fishing alongside Paco Hinojosa, a local fishing guide around these fisheries. He knows where the fish are and what technique to use to make the most out of your trip. Paco will take you to hot spots in search of prime fish in the area. You will get to try a variety of techniques, depending on the fish you want to target.

Your vessel for the day is a 25' Panga center console. She is powered by a 150 HP Mercury outboard engine and is rigged with the navigational gear. The boat features plenty of space to fish safely with comfort. It's all about a smooth and safe ride. The boat features high sides and a non-slip surface which makes it safe for kids of all ages. Anglers of all skillsets are welcome to join the adventure.

When fishing around the bay, you can try drifting, wade fishing, structure, topwater, or going after bottom fish, using either artificial lures or bait, depending on what works better on the selected day. You can expect to get Red Drum, Snook, Flounder, and Speckled Trout.

Further out, you can try trolling for Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack or go bottom fishing for Red Snapper, Grouper, or Tripletail.

Make sure to bring a valid fishing license, snacks, and drinks. All the tackle, bait, and ice are supplied, as are the rods and lures. You will get your catch cleaned, and can later have a tasty meal. Pack sunglasses, sunblock, a cap, comfortable clothes, and non-marking shoes. Book early to avoid missing out.

Half Day with Paco Hinojosa
6hr Morning Bay Fishing on July 20, 20222 adults1 child

We started early in the morning and instantly hit a hot spot. Captain Paco is super efficient, knowledgeable, and so patient with young children! This was 5yr olds first ever fishing trip like this. Paco knows the bay area very well and all sorts of tips and tricks, what to and not to do in order to get you a ton of fish! His boat is SOOO comfortable on the water, even when choppy, as it was when we went out due to the wind that day. He is so helpful and his equipment was in perfect operating order! Tons of methods he allows you to choose from and bait was fresh and plentiful! This was an A+ experience and we wouldn't dream of booking with anyone other than Paco in the future! He is so accommodating and very well prepared! You won't regret booking this guy!

Half Day with Capt Paco
6hr Morning Bay Fishing on July 2, 20184 adults

First let me say that when I emailed Capt Paco with a question he responded pretty quickly. We showed up a little before 6am and he didn't waste anytime, we boarded the boat and off we went. The morning started off extremely well, he took us to the Long Bar and we started catching Trout within about 5 minutes, we caught about 16 but only kept 12. We could have caught our limit but decided to try to catch some Red Drum and Flounder. We didn't have any luck catching any Red Drum or Flounder but we did catch a few catfish that we threw back. Overall we had a great experience with Capt Paco. If I am back in this area I will Definitely book with him again. Super nice guide that knew the area and could hold a conversation with 3 teenage boys and myself. Thank You Paco for a great trip.

Half day trip with Captain Paco
6hr Morning Bay Fishing on May 6, 20184 adults

When we (6 of us) decided to book our first fishing trip I researched a few Captains, their boats, and cost. I choose Captain Paco because he actually answered his phone on first ring when everybody else had voicemail and no callbacks. He also answered the phone every time I called him. He also called me a few times just to check on us or discuss the weather or trip specifics as the date got close. Captain Paco has a great 25' boat and all of his rods worked like a charm. Catching fish was slow at first as we moved several times looking for a hot spot. Captain Paco know the bay like the back of his hand and is knowledgeable on the fish movements and tendencies. We had caught a large Red and several catfish but he kept moving if the fish were not biting frequently enough. We only had 20 minutes left on our 4 hour trip and Captain Paco could of taken us back in because it was a 20 minute trip to get back to the dock but instead he said "I want to try this place I know in the south side" and headed southbound. By the time we arrived at the southern spot we only had 10 minutes left but we started hitting speckled trout. The fishing was fast and furious for about 30 minutes!! Captain Paco was baiting and taking the fish off and untangling line in harmony. He put us on the fish and let us stay out until everybody had caught plenty fish. By the time we got back we were over an hour late. He really cares about his customers catching fish and having a good time. We will definetly book with Captain Paco again!!!!

Amazing!!!
Afternoon Trip - Bay Fishing on June 7, 20183 adults

Our trip was supposed to be at 2, but then he texted me on the phone asking if I wanted to start earlier because trout was biting like crazy on his previous trip and he wanted us to have the same action. And the expectations were definitely met. We end up pulling 8 decent sized trouts in. He really knows his stuff and he will make sure you have caught enough fish. He will also teach you lots of good tricks. Highly recommended! He even let me use his sunscreen because I left mine in the car. I’m a customer for life now!

Fishing with Paco
Afternoon Trip - Bay Fishing on December 28, 20195 adults

Paco knows his stuff.... day started out slow but we moved to where he thought they might be and we started catching. He was easy to converse with , encouraged my kids to keep fishing , was there biggest cheerleader when they had the “ big one “ on, knowledgeable, and let us fish to the very last minute. I would highly recommend him
