If you are fishing in the Dominican Republic, you want to fish with our captains! of High Z's Fishing Tour. With over 36 years of experience, he has many prestigious Billfish tournaments to his name. You will fish in the safe knowledge he will do everything in his power to get you your trophy fish!

Book between May and July and he can practically guarantee you to catch a Marlin - the season is that plentiful over there for this great fish! And if fishing awesome fish like Sailfish, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, and Wahoo isn't your cup of tea, why not try spearfishing them instead? Up to 10 people can get up close and personal, and try their hand at spearfishing. Just let the Captain know before the trip if you would like to try.

High Z's Fishing Tours have something for everyone. If you don't want to fish big game, they are happy to bottom fish for Snapper, Yellowtail, and Grouper. Puerto Plata is a great fishing spot for bottom fishing, and you will not leave empty-handed! Let us know what you're interested in hooking, and he will make your fishing dreams come true!

Our captains love to see you happy, and if you're feeling hungry on the longer trips, he knows exactly what to do! One of his passions in life is cooking, so as a special service, he will cook the fish you have caught on board, for no extra fee! The journey from sea to plate has never been smaller or more delicious!

They use the best of Penn and Shimano rods and reels, and will also provide fruits and snacks on all trips. You can even expect a sandwich on the longer trips. The only thing not included is the tip for the First Mate. You will also need to bring sunscreen and polarized sunglasses.

Fantastic trip

We had an absolutely incredible day out on the water! The Captain, his son, and the first mate were all amazing—going above and beyond to help my son catch fish and making the entire experience unforgettable. The action was nonstop, and at one point we even had a double hookup with two mahi-mahi's on at the same time! One of them managed to break the line, but that only added to the excitement. I truly could not have asked for a better fishing trip. Huge thanks to the entire crew and family for such a fantastic day on the water—we'll be talking about this one for a long time! 🎣🌊

Great Trip!

Half Day Trip (AM) on March 15, 2026 • 4 adults

Nelson made the entire experience seamless from the very beginning, picking us up right from the cruise ship and getting us out on the water without any stress. His son Carlos was a huge help on the boat—always attentive, hardworking, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Our first mate Tario was just as impressive, bringing great energy and expertise that made the trip even more enjoyable. And of course, our captain did an outstanding job putting us on the fish. We had an incredible day, reeling in 6 barracudas and 1 mahi. To top it all off, the crew arranged for our catch to be cooked at a local restaurant in the marina village, which was the perfect way to end the experience. Great people, great fishing, and an all-around unforgettable day. The fellas will definitely be back.

Bad string of luck was broken

After getting skunked in Bonaire and being blown off the water to only be able to do reef fishing in Aruba, the guys finally came through for me and my young boys in getting getting us on some fish. We caught three barracuda and a wahoo. seeing my boys faces light up at the sound of the drag squealing when that wahoo hit is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. The boat was clean the mate and captain were attentive. Everything was as expected.

Great Trip w/ a Great Crew

We had a wonderful time fishing with High Z's Fishing. We were on a cruise, so we needed to be picked up from the port for our trip, and they were there waiting for us when we came off the boat. They took us right to the boat and got us on the water quickly. The crew was excellent! We had a great time learning and chatting with the captain. Our coolers were stocked with cold beer when we got there, so we were excited about that. The team did there best trying to put us on the fish, but unfortunately we did not catch our first ever marlin on the trip.......that's how it goes sometimes. We would definitely recommend using High Z's to anyone as it was still a fun and great experience. Thank you guys!

Great team and execution

We were on a cruise and as soon as we exited to the meeting point they were there to pick us up. after a short ride we got the the dock where we immediately got on the boat and got rolling. We fished witb 5 lines out and thise were out within 10 minutes if getting on the boat. We caught 2 small baracudas but the day we went but the boat the day before had caught 13. Great guys and great effort.
