Full Day Trip on May 25, 20263 adults
We went out with Captain Maikel, Victor, and Milton 2 times 5/25 & 5/27/2026. 1st trip offshore was amazing, caught 2 big sailfish, and 2 nice big yellowfin tuna and a mahi. 2nd trip was inshore we caught a ton of fish. We caught a several mahi, blackfin tuna, and the highlight was a couple rooster fish. I believe we caught 23 fish inshore. Captain and crew were very attentive and amazing both trips. would highly recommend Rhino Charger.

Outstanding fishing charter- We will be back!!!
3/4 Day Trip on December 30, 20252 adults
Captain Mike was fantastic — a great captain who got us on fish right away. Within the first hour we landed a beautiful sailfish, and we had another sailfish shake the hook plus a marlin bite that just didn't stick. Best of all, we were the first boat of the day to catch a sailfish out of all the boats on the water. Milton and Victor worked nonstop. They were quick to spot fish, hustled to get us into perfect position, and stayed sharp the entire trip. Their teamwork made a huge difference. The boat was clean and well-maintained, the gear was top-notch, and they changed out lures based on the bite. One unexpected highlight was Victor's mother's home-cooked food — absolutely amazing and a great touch. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this crew — we will definitely be back. 🎣 Thanks again Gents! Pura Vida!

Thank you so much for your fantastic review and recommendation, Nate! We’re thrilled to hear what an incredible day you had with Captain Mike, Milton, and Victor. Getting on a sailfish within the first hour—and being the first boat of the day to land one—is always something special. We also really appreciate your kind words about Milton and Victor. Their nonstop effort are a huge part of what makes these trips successful, and it’s great to hear that stood out to you. We’re also glad you enjoyed the condition of the boat, the quality of the gear, and the crew’s attention to adapting lures to the bite. And of course, Victor’s mom’s home-cooked food is always a favorite! Thank you again for choosing to fish with us and we hope you return to Tamarindo soon.

Success on a tough day
3/4 Day Trip on February 9, 20262 adults
Fishing conditions were tough in the days preceding our trip. While the conditions improved a bit on the 9th, fishing remained difficult. However, our Captain, Michael and his crew, Milton and Victor were not deterred. The result was success with 2 catches, an 85 lb. Sailfish and a substantial Mahi. The captain and crew worked hard to make that happen. They were professional, attentive and courteous. My wife and I would definitely fish with them again!

Half Day Fishing Extravaganza
Half Day Trip on August 20, 20256 adults
This was an excellent trip for 6 Canadian Fishers who had never been out for real deep sea fishing! Despite some of our weak stomaches on the boat, we had a great experience doing a half day of fishing with Maikel, Milton and Victor who are true professionals and fun at the same time! Upon arriving at the beach they were right on time, helped us easily on to the boat and we had a good chat regarding exactly what we wanted to get out of the day. We decided to shoot for the trophy fish as there had been good luck that week from them and other boats catching Marlin and Sailfish (Catch and release species in Costa Rica). We then set out off shore for about 45 minutes before they set out all the lures and we were off. We set a catch order for the 6 of us, as there is one main fishing chair, and quickly got a small Mahi Mahi and Tuna on deck. In this time they set up some super fresh pineapple right there on the boat and provided us with beer, pop and water to drink. We also managed to see dolphins which came right up to the boat and turtles all over. We then moved spots a bit while trolling and quickly caught a big Mahi Mahi. Upon getting the Mahi Mahi on board we got our pictures with it and they quickly filleted it and put it on ice for us (we got to take home all of the 4 fillets and make it into some amazing ceviche and tacos!) After this they provided us with some salsa and chips for a snack. We then continued fishing and caught one more small Mahi Mahi and a Skipjack Tuna. As there was 6 of us, we unfortunately did not each get to real in a fish; however, the captains apologized and said this was quite a slow day for them (we understood that they cannot control this) and we also had two sailfish hit and one jump near us that we just couldn’t quite hook. They had 8 rods out at all time, were very attentive to the rods and incredibly quick to respond to hits, and they gave great direction on how to best handle the gear. The boat was also in great shape and comfortable for all 6 of us, and although the bathroom was small, it is a huge luxury on a boat and we greatly appreciated it. Overall if you are new I would highly advise getting some anti-nausea medications to avoid getting sick, however the ride was excellent and the crew even better. Could not recommend anymore and will definitely be back out with Rhino Charger Sportfishing if we make it back to Tamarindo one day!

Pure Life!
Full Day Trip on August 10, 20252 adults2 children
We had an unforgettable fishing adventure with Captain Michael and his crew out of Tamarindo, Costa Rica! From start to finish, their professionalism and enthusiasm made the trip exceptional. While fishing always comes with uncertainty, Captain Michael and his team went above and beyond to put us in the best spots to hook some incredible catches. We reeled in several trophy yellowfin tunas and a couple of inshore jacks, including a stunning Rooster fish that was a highlight for our family! Beyond the fishing, the wildlife was absolutely spectacular. We were thrilled to spot whales, turtles, dolphins, and a variety of other marine life, which made the day even more memorable. The crew's knowledge of the area and passion for what they do truly set this charter apart. If you're looking for a top-notch fishing experience in Tamarindo, we highly recommend Captain Michael and his team—they'll make sure you have an incredible time on the water!
