If you've heard of heard about Tarpon fishing and would like to know what all the fuss is about, then look no further than Backwater Tarpon Fishing Charters. Operated by Captain Clery, they are your resident experts when it comes to tackling the Silver King in his own backyard.
You'll be fishing on a 24' Ranger bay boat that is powered by a single 300 HP Suzuki engine. This vessel is perfect for Tarpon fishing as the flat deck gives you enough freedom to walk effortlessly around the boat while minimizing the risk of falling and/or getting the line tangled.
This vast lagoon is perfectly suited for marine life, providing infinite sources of bait all year round for the resident fish. Targeting the Silver King will be your main priority, but there are other fish around as well. The local Tarpon population can range anywhere from 20 lbs all the way up to 150 lbs.
Captain Clery will provide you with all the necessary rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a fun time on the water. All you need to bring is a pair of polarized sunglasses, some sunscreen, and a go-getter attitude. Once you've danced with the Silver King, you'll be hooked for life.

Captain Gabriel was amazing. What a kind, amazing, and professional Captain. Our son caught a huge Tarpon, which was exactly what we were hoping for. We caught a few other smaller fish but the tarpon was the highlight. We had never booked a charter like this anywhere, so we didn't know what to expect. We had a wonderful time on our fishing trip with Captain Abi! Even though the fish weren't cooperating that day, the experience was still fantastic. Captain Abi was incredibly patient, friendly, and made sure we had a great time from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and created a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere on the water. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a memorable experience, regardless of the day's catch. We really appreciated his positive attitude and professionalism, and we'd happily book another trip with him. Highly recommend!
This was my 3rd trip with backwater Tarpon. I booked two back to back trips last year in Aug 2025 but we didnt have much luck catching any Tarpons. I booked another trip (April 2026) becuase i wanted to redeem myself and check off Tarpon of my list. We barely had anytime to sit and relax. bites after bites, crazy fights!! "Mateo" our captain, great guide and a very experienced angler. He knew exactly where the Tarpons were feeding.. As we got to the feeding zone, it was game on. And the cherry on top? we landed a Monster Tarpon as we were wrapping up!! If you're on fence about booking a trip with BWT? don't think about it, just do it.
The captain was very informative, answered all of my questions. Did a great job at explaining how to reel in Tarpon. I caught 4 fish, three small and 1 big one. He took us around to different areas in the water to look for the fish. There was powerades and water available. He took photos and a video and sent them to us as well. Overall great experience. Will definitely book this trip again in the future! Thank you Capt. Tommy.
We had an amazing trip. The fish werent biting much, but Mateo (our captain) kept moving to other spots to continue exploring. We had ine strike that got away, but the highlight of the trip was at the very end when our 12 year old got a strike and fought the tarpon. Mateo's knowledge of the waters and the tips thqt he gave to our 12 year old thqt loves to fish are priceless.

The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
