Sufishiente Sportfishing offers incredible sportfishing experience with Captain Carlos, who has more than 20 years of experience.
We’re talking big fish here! Tropical Roosterfish that you can catch close to the shore, stunning Snappers, and rapid Wahoo along the reefs. Within less than 10 miles, you’ll even encounter Billfish. From Mahi Mahi to Marlin, Sailfish to Tuna, battle it out with some of the ocean’s most majestic creatures. Bottom fish the reefs or troll for the bigger species.
You’ll be fishing from the captain’s 22’ Super Panga, which accommodates up to 3 guests. The boat features navigational and safety equipment, a live bait tank, an ice box, and outriggers. There’s also a multimedia system, so feel free to play your favorite music as you cut the waves and soak up some sun.
If you want to stay closer to the shore, within 8 miles, it will take up to 30 minutes to reach your fishing spot. Going further, up to 20 miles off the coast can take up to one hour. It all depends on what fish you want to catch. Fish you catch can be kept but there are strict regulations and the amount is limited.
The captain will provide your fishing equipment and prepare live bait in advance. Bring your snacks and drinks for the day. There’s a cooler on the boat, where you can keep them fresh and cold at all times. Kids of all ages are welcome but you should bring life vests for them if they are under 2 years old.
Sufishiente Sportfishing takes you right in the middle of big game fishing action. Get ready to spring into motion at the sound of the reels, and use all your strength to reel one in.

6 Hour Trip on June 25, 2025
Had a great day out on the water. Started out promptly at 6 am. Get your license beforehand. Bought from a woman at a workstation near the parking lot. Traveled north about an hour. Had first fish in 20 minutes. After catching a few bonita, 2 sheepshead, red snapper and a big amberjack, bite slowed a bit. Moved closer to shore for rooster fish. What a blast catching them. Wind picked up so started south towards the marina and trolled for almost the entire return trip. Despite not hooking into anything, the ride was great. Fish were cleaned by a crew at the dock for tips. They bagged too. To do differently. Ran out of live bait which was needed for rooster fish. Would have bought more from bait guy. Did buy a bag of needlefish used for trolling from same bait guy. Captain swings by on way out of harbor.

6 Hour Trip on May 12, 2025
I’ve fished with dozens of freshwater guides and probably double that number of salt water charters boats. Hands down one of the best paid fishing trips of over been on. The boat and gear is solid but what sets this trip apart is captain Carlos I’ve never seen a captain work so hard with such a positive attitude to put me and my 5 year old son(his first time on the ocean) on fish. Slammed some trophy roosters and after the bite slowed went about 8 miles to go after wahoo and mahi fished our asses off before the swell got so bad we had to turn back to shore(can’t control the weather) finished the day with some suburb afternoon roosters. Carlos who has kids himself made my son feel so welcome by the end of the trip I almost forgot I had paid for the trip and was feeling like I was out fishing with an old friend. I couldn’t recommend Carlos high enough to anyone who happens to have the pleasure of booking with such a great guide. Truly a pleasure and can’t wait to get back down to San Jose this fall to chase some marlin. Thank you again Carlos you made mine and my sons trip to the Baja an amazing experience. 10 out of 5 stars all the way. Would have gladly paid double but please don’t raise your rates before I get down there again lol

I had a great time with Capt. Carlos - it was a last minute booking at a not optimal time of year, but Carlos was great. We put well over a dozen Skip Jack in boat while looking for uncooperative Marlin and ended the morning hooking up a few roosterfish. I’ve done a lot of fly fishing but offshore fishing was new to me, and the captain was great helping me figure it out. Love the smaller panga boat - will definitely come back down in “prime time” and go out with Carlos again. Great guide, good communication ahead of the trip, and he put me on fish all day. Fun day, and recommend.

6 Hour Trip on March 2, 2025
I have fished multiple times with many different captains on much larger boats in San Jose, but wanted to try a small boat (panga) trip this time. The water was colder than expected, strong wind and currents and limited live bait, which would normally make for a pretty bad day. Captain Carlos worked hard all day and even with tough conditions put me on fish consistently all day. We ended up with a very large amberjack, 3 white bonita, 2 spanish mackeral and 1 good sized jack crevalle. Unless I am taking guests and we need a big boat for some reason, I will be fishing with Captain Carlos from now on. At the end of the day, it comes down to the knowledge of the Captain and how hard he is willing to work to put you on fish. Captain Carlos is the best I have fished with in San Jose.

Our trip with Carlos in mid-February was a real treat! Me, my husband and my 5 year-old met Carlos at the dock after getting lost. He was kind enough to call a couple of times to make sure we would make it. The whole trip he was attentive to our needs specially towards my kid who got sea sick and a bit scared, but Carlos' was able to calm him down and ease his seasickness. He explained everything fishing with patience and was very knowledgeable about wildlife which was in part what we liked the most about this trip. If we ever come back to Cabo, we will definitely sail with Carlos again.
