If you’re ready to experience fishing in San Jose Del Cabo, we’ve got you covered with Capricho Sport Fishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain David Rosales can tell you all about the local fishery.
Amberjack, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Snapper, Black Grouper, Yellowtail Amberjack, Roosterfish, and more are in the cards, depending on the time of year. You’ll target your catch by spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your boat for the day is a 24’ Center console that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is available for an extra fee. Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard!
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s recommended to bring snacks, drinks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock. Bottled water is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Your trip with Capricho Sport Fishing is just a click away, so why not make it happen?

6 Hour Trip
Ok so I'll break it down for you all. I'm an experienced fisherman and came out to fish with my wife and my 7 year old son who has never been out on a chartered fishing boat. When you arrive, park just past the Gonzo hotel. Website directions mention the long pier but it's just past that. Captain was great and I mentioned before hand that I wanted a Rooster fish and when we started out we bought the live bait which is a must! Don't go without it and it's $30. Well worth it. Within 20 minutes we were getting Rooster Fish hits! I landed a beautiful rooster and we lost a few others. Then I mentioned I wanted to get my son on a dorado. Off we went and before we knew it, we had hooked up and my son landed a beautiful dorado. We saw and chased after marlin but they didn't bite. The swell was getting a bit choppy and we cruised towards shore and got into some big Jacks! Our captain knew where the fish were and had no problem getting us on them. Very experienced and friendly and he was great with helping my son land his fish! Our captain also did a great job cleaning our fish and we went home with some beautiful filets! Fish tacos that night!!! If you are on the fence about booking this trip, I would totally recommend you do it. Do the 6 hour trip at least and be prepared to hook and fight some fish!

We had Carlos as our captain. He worked hard to try to help us catch fish since it was their slow season for fish. He did a great job and put us on fish, where we caught our limit of rooster fish. We had a great time. He cut up the fish and gave us how much we wanted. His boss sent us down to George's within a walk of the drop off to get our fish cooked. The cooks were amazing and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend using them. We will definitely use them again when we come back.

The captain was above and beyond expectations. Super friendly and knowledgeable guide. He knew instantly where to find the fish and we wasted no time. We landed 20 plus yellowfin tuna, a few bonita, and a mahi mahi all in a few short hours. The captain is not afraid to take you where the high dollar boats go.

6 Hour Trip
I did a solo half day charter with Captain Carlos. We left the marina around 6:15am, purchased live bait, caught a few small bonito (later used them as Marlin bait). We had a shark take a few of our live baits in the morning. As the hours passed, Carlos preached patience and kept moving the boat to find the fish. Like he said, right at 11am, we had a double header of two very good sized striped marlin. We were the only boat in the fleet that had hooked up - twice at the same time. We spend the next 60+ minutes fighting both fish, chasing one or the other down and eventually landed both in the boat. Needless to say, the ride back to the marina was filled with a bunch of high fives and laughs! I will be back to fish with Captain Carlos again, 100%! Great time on the water.

I did a solo trip with Captain David. It was 2 days after a tropical storm rolled into San Jose Del Cabo so water still was a bit mixed up. David made the most of it for me, going back to the harbor to get some larger baits. I wanted to catch a Rooster but the TS messed that up. Ended the 6 hour trip with a Jack cravalle, a Monster needlefish, a small bonito and and a 4 foot reef shark. These guys know how to find fish and I recommend them for anyone looking to get on the water to fish while in San Jose. David is young and eager to help you catch a fish. He’s a native of San Jose, been fishing his entire life, has great English and knows how to make you and your fish look good in photos! Two thumbs up! Thanks guys!
