Arrowsmith Adventures is a West Coast fishing outfit out of Port Alberni, British Columbia – one of the Salmon fishing capitals in the world! This outstanding place has some of the biggest returns of Salmon around.

The boat you'll be fishing from can seat up to 5 guests. The vessel is a 26' Kingfisher, that's powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine and a 20 HP wireless trolling motor. There's enough room for everybody to fish at the same time but only 2–4 fishing rods can be out when trolling. The boat has all necessary safety equipment and Lowrance navigational gear.

You'll target Halibut, Lingcod, Rockfish, and many species of Salmon, such as Chinook (Springs), Coho, and Sockeye. Depending on what you're trying to catch, you'll use trolling, jigging, bottom or drift fishing. The captain uses live bait, mainly herring.

In case you're looking for a full retreat experience, Captain Jesse also offers multi-day trips with accommodation. He can do a pickup from the airports or ferries to the lodge for an additional cost. There are 3 airports in the area – pickup from the 2 closest ones costs $75 per person (in both directions) and $100 from the furthest one. The captain can customize any type of package you need. Just let him know in advance and he'll be excited to help you plan the perfect adventure.

Don't forget to purchase your fishing license before the trip. The captain will provide all fishing equipment.

This beautiful area has so much to offer. After fishing, the captain can take you to a few different spots where you can go for a dip, such as the gorgeous Sprout lake or refreshing Somass River. It's a great way to relax and cool off after a day packed with fishing action. Contact Arrowsmith Adventures and make your fishing dream a reality!

Amazing Captain and Guide Experience!
Sockeye Salmon Trip on July 2, 20244 adults

Booked a trip to take my parents and girlfriend for the Barkley sound salmon experience. Jesse got us into chinooks right away and never stopped trying! I've been on a few salmon charters and some lodge experiences before and this was world class! When the bite was off he switched gear and locations immediately. Jesse's passion is fishing and the outdoors so it was a fun experience for everyone! Half way through the trip my mom got quite sick and Jesse even stopped in Bamfield so she could touch land, regroup and get back on the water. After catching lots of chinook and coho we pulled up a crab trap that had 25 or more crabs in it on the way back in. Great boat, great captain, great time! 10/10 recommend!

'Fishing is truly my first passion and love. Growing up in northern Ontario and fishing all the lakes my whole life, to fishing the west coast of Vancouver Island the last decade. And now owner/operator of my own charter outfit. A dream come true!' Capt. Jesse manly trolls for Salmon. For Halibut, he'll anchor up drift or troll, all depending on the trip or weather conditions.
