You'll be fishing aboard a 22' Cape Horn center console boat powered by a single 225 HP Yamaha engine. It can accommodate up to 5 passengers. The boat has the standard navigational electronics, including a Garmin GPS, a fishfinder as well as a VHF radio.
The Soggy Bottom is a locally owned and operated fishing charter. Specializing in customizable bay, gulf, and inshore fishing excursions, all these charters take place on the waterways of the captain's hometown.
The tackle on board consists of Shimano and Quantum rods and reels, as well as appropriate spinning rods for bottom fishing. Capt. Adam utilizes a variety of bait depending on the season and the species you'd like to target.
Many refer to Destin as the world's luckiest fishing village, and the captains are committed to showing you why. You'll target Redfish, Speckled Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Flounder, Kingfish, Amberjack, Cobia, Red Snapper, Grouper, Triggerfish, and many other species, depending on the season.
Since they are confident in their ability to put you on fish, Soggy Bottom also offers a Catch Fish Guarantee or you get an extra hour added to your trip for free. Your fish will be cleaned at the end of the trip for your convenience. All you need to bring is some drinks, snacks, and sunscreen.

The choice for some, is obvious.. Jordan & Jason knew what they were doing, and as long as we were cool with pressing on, they were good too. Hell yeah, get it boys! Caught & hooked shark, and then a bunch of other dinner fish to take home and fry up. Definitely let these boys take you out to sea, they know their fickle ocean mistress, and they know where all her bounty are swimming. See you again soon guys!

David the day before letting me know weather out on the gulf was not good for fishing. He offered bay fishing as an option and was very honest about what that fishing looks like and that gulf is more reliable. I asked if there was another morning as an option, he looked and checked with the books and got us in on Monday morn out on the gulf. We had a BLAST. Cap David was awesome and super fun to be around. Got us on fish right away and we all caught and we all also got, got by a few big ones. Would for sure book again and will on my next trip down.

4 Hour Trip — Bay/Gulf Charter on July 1, 2021 • 3 adultsWhat a great trip with Captain David. The Gulf was rough with storms around so we stayed inshore. First cast my son threw in, he landed a 24” sea trout. We were getting bites within minutes of throwing out. You could tell Captain David was knowledgeable of the area for sure. I know that had more storms not rolled in, and our trip not cut short we would’ve kept catching fish. I highly recommend these guys and will definitely be back on The Soggy Bottom!

4 Hour Trip — Bay/Gulf Charter on June 2, 2021 • 4 adults • 1 childHad a great time on the water with Captain David. The fishing was slow, but we kept moving and found some fish. All equipment was in working order and we didn’t have any issues. Sadly we couldn’t go out into the gulf due to the conditions, but I appreciate the Captain making the safest and best decision for our trip. Hope that we are able to visit Destin again and get on some more fish with Soggy Bottom II.
