Aquila Fishing Mauritius
The team behind Aquila Fishing Mauritius started out in the big game fishing business all the way back in 1970. To date, they've owned 6 boats, with the 'Aquila' being the company's last upgrade. This family enterprise was born from the shared passion for fishing between a father and his son.
'Aquila' is a 53' D'Unienville cruiser, designed and built in Mauritius. She can accommodate up to 8 anglers, and you'll all be able to fish at the same time. This luxurious vessel is outfitted with 3 cabins and a private bathroom. The vessel has a full array of electronics and safety equipment, including EPIRB to keep you safe even in the most remote waters offshore. Onboard, you'll also find life jackets for all ages, so bring the kids along!
The Aquila team uses Shimano Tiagra rods, matched with 7 Tiagra reels in a variety of weight ranges. You have a wide mix of big game lures available, as well as the option to troll live bait such as Bonito. The Aquila team knows that only the best can cut it against seriously big game pelagics like the mighty Blue Marlin. You'll also have the chance to battle other hard-fighting species – get ready to come face-to-gills with Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and more.
For over 60 years, the family has been out on the water almost every day, fishing all over the Mauritian coast. Aquila's Skipper, Berty, has over 30 years of experience in Mauritius, which he uses to guide his guests to his favorite sweet spots for their targeted species. His Mate, Eddy, comes from a local fishing village and is also a deep sea veteran.
Aquila Fishing Mauritius balances sumptuous luxury with world-class angling to give you nothing short of the ultimate Mauritian fishing experience. Spend the day on a 5-star vessel with one of the best crews in the country and get offshore to catch the oceans' top predators!

From start to finish Gerald has been a perfect host in managing the trip. Quality of Boat and Equipment is first class, knowledge, experience and services of skipper and crew could not be any better. Thanks to all at Aquila for making this trip so memorable, we will certainly be looking you up when we make the return visit.

Thanks for the feedback Richard.Looking forward to welcoming you again!
Fished a total of 5 days, the boat is immaculate all the gear is world class however the crew are lazy and spent most of the day on the flybridge, on the occasions we managed to get marlin strikes the captain went full throttle which made no sense as you could pull the hook or enlarge the hook hole, on one occasion he went full throttle before the marlin struck ? upon setting off from the mooring the crew start to drop the lures in while the water is only 7m deep and we are 7 miles from fishing grounds, and around 2 1/2 hours before we were due to return the the boat was trolling the shallows (50m or less) as they dont want you to hookup as it will make them late getting in, in addition to that the boat slows down as well, so each trip you loose at least 3 hours trolling water with no fish in as its too shallow. If you want a family day out on the water with the chance of hooking a fish then this boat is for you as it is clean a spacious but is you want a serious days fishing look elsewhere
My son and I had a great time. Friendly and very helpful crew. It was our first time out Game Fishing and it makes all the difference when you have experienced crew to help and guide you what you need to know. We caught some nice Durado. Not our day for Marlin but we'll be back to try again.

We were glad to have you on board and shall be pleased to welcome you again !

Glad you enjoyed the trip! Looking forward to welcoming you on board again.
